He has more opportunities to conduct searches and that is benefitting him, correct?

Anyhow, searches of an individual's person? Searches of their car? Home? Office? Luggage/purse/briefcase etc.?

Is he just nosy? Does he have any relevant fetish (e. g. he likes going through women's purses or some such)?

Is it more satisfying because he's more likely to catch someone via a search of their belongings?

Or is it that there's less resistance to searches by the searchees?

Does he feel more confident that he's doing a satisfactory job? Have his duties been clarified by some "homeland security" directives?

the searches that are relevant - are they searches of him? or by him?

if of him - does he have reason to want someone not to search him? or to search him more thoroughly? is there a reason that he wants to be searched more often? less often?

if by him - does he now search in a different way? does he now search different people? more people? does he now search people more extensively?
does he steal from those he searches?

is the benefit he gains something which is gained by other colleagues? is it personal to him?

does he have a quota of searches to fill?

Are there other relevant factors than searches? Is it more to do with the various reductions in freedom we (the majority we, not necessarily myself and others) have been willing to accept as the price of non-terror (i. e. various Homeland Security policies)?

is it relevant that searches now include personal items like handbags (purses in Usian I believe)?
and for some reason this is better for him?
does it make it harder for him to do the searches for some reason? so he gets less work to do?

does it mean that people are not now carrying something relevant in their handbags? something that they would have done before? does it mean that people are not now so much carrying handbags at all? so the whole search process is faster than before? or simpler in some way?

**** SPOILER *****************
Ahmad is a dog-lover, who regrets the 8 hours a day he spends away from his dogs, as a security guard in a Federal building in D.C. After 9/11, the government started using dogs as bomb-sniffers. So now happy Ahmed gets to be with dogs on the job as well as at home. This case is modelled on a dog-loving friend of mine who's a goverment lawyer & now gets to see dogs every day in the lobby of her workplace. Congratulations on solvong it, Lynne, & please check out my new puzzle at the bottom of the page
