Some mutual hobby relevant? No, but see the hint below if you'd like a clue Do Gary and Ashley have some kind of hobby or activity they are involved in that is relevant? No, except for what's mentioned in the hint Did Gary propose on one knee? Was he standing? Sitting? Not really relevant, but he was probably standing The other guys hiding Gary until the critical moment? No The guys pulling some kind of prank? No HINT: It is very possible that Ashley and Gary were lateral puzzle fans. |

Did Gary ask her to marry him by saying "Will you marry me?"? Did he say something else? Did he say anything? Did Bill or Harold say anything? relevant? Did Ashley have to figure out that Gary was proposing (i.e. it wasn't obvious at first)? Could Gary have proposed in the same manner with no friends present with him? just one friend? more than 2 friends? Is anything relevant about Bill individually apart from Harold? vice versa? |

Did Gary ask her to marry him by saying "Will you marry me?"? NO, but you have hit on a key to the solution so explore! Did he say something else? No... Did he say anything? NO, Gary did not speak Did Bill or Harold say anything? No, they didn't speak either relevant? Yes Did Ashley have to figure out that Gary was proposing (i.e. it wasn't obvious at first)? Yes, this was the case Could Gary have proposed in the same manner with no friends present with him? No just one friend? No more than 2 friends? No Is anything relevant about Bill individually apart from Harold? vice versa? There's something relevant about both of them, but not as separate individuals (that may be redundant, I'm sorry) |

Did Gary propose using charades-like symbols (including the aforementioned props)? Do we need to guess how he represented each word of his proposal? Did he propose by "saying" 'be my wife?' or 'please by mine forever'? |

was the proposal a single sentence? Yes proposal include: Was the puzzle a play on words? Yes Anagram? No A lateral puzzle? Not exactly, but Ashley would have used that kind of logic to figure out what was being said I'll take Relationships for $2000 Alex? Sure, as long as you don't soak me for upwards of $1 million like that guy from Arizona did... |

No, not costumes Was it in essence a three-dimensional rebus? Yes oooohhhh! Light bulb! ding ding ding! I'm 99% sure I got it. I'll back off and let others have a shot, but just to be sure... She knew Bill and Harold, correct? She likely did, but even if she had never met them she still would have figured out what Gary wanted to communicate Send me an e-mail if you think you know it |

So they had on name tags? Yes And William was standing to Harry's right, and Gary to Harry's left? This would work, yes Such that from Ashley's perspective William is on the left and Gary on the right? Yes - the order from Ashley's perspective would put Harry in the center, William to her far left and Gary to her far right |
