RECAP: I'm playing a game. I started with ten. I have gotten rid of five, and would like to get rid of five more. Getting rid of ten isn't always a winning score. There is no prize involved, it's all for fun. You can play this game with upwards of thousands of people ( in one game ) online, and less ( would need considerable organizing skills - I'd say a game with a hundred or so players is the biggest that still sound plausible ) with pen and paper. What I need to get rid of are physical things. The game only involves physical activity if you cheat. What is this game?

the ten: cards? chips? pieces? dice? kingdoms? bottles of beer on the wall? dominoes? jacks? billiards? (no physical activity unless you cheat, so i guess Twister is out... :) )

None of these. Now what would online Twister with thousands of people be like? :)

OK, it yopishly starts with the same number of somethings; so lets see if we can turn that yope into a something more solid.

Do all the players in a game start with the same number of somethings?

Is the number of somethings that you start with up to your own choice? or is it dependant on how many games you've already played? or won?

Is it a function of the skill level you're playing at? (Like Minesweeper, which has the beginner level--10 mines in 64 squares; the intermediate level--40 mines in 246 squares; and the expert level-99 mines in 480 squares.)

Do online players take turns, or are they each playing for high score? low score? fastest time?

Ok.

Yes. Ten.

No.

Yet another Blooper:

Do online players take turns, or are they each playing for high score? low score? fastest time?
High score.

High score would mean the person with the least is the winner.

What I think I know...
You have ten Words, right? And you're trying to get rid of all ten if you can? Or is it 10 questions?

To get rid of these words, do you have to...
Form them? (with letters)
Guess them?
Find them?
Cross them off?
Have somebody else involved?
Sink their battleship?

No. Remember that they were physical things. Though words are, of course, used to represent the ten things you choose.

To get rid of these words, do you have to...
Form them? (with letters)
Guess them?
Find them?
Cross them off?
Have somebody else involved?
Sink their battleship?
You cross them off in the process. Guessing is also related, but not in the way you're implying.

So... the words could represent anything?
Animals? Vegetables? Minerals? Other?

Is memory key to playing this game?

Are you using profession as in one of the following definitions? If so, which... 1a? 1b?...4?

Profession:

1b,An occupation, such as law, medicine, or engineering, that requires considerable training and specialized study.
1c,The body of qualified persons in an occupation or field: members of the teaching profession.
2,An act or instance of professing; a declaration.
3,An avowal of faith or belief.
4,A faith or belief: believers of various professions.

I'm playing deadpool. At deadpool.rotten.com. It's a game where you pick the ten people you think are not going to last the year. Murdering people on the list is cheating according to rules. So far I have five dead on my list: http://zombie.rotten.com/cgi-bin/profile.cgi?c=1
