Well actually you've raised a good point, it's not the Beatles as such that are involved. You'll need some general knowledge but you wouldn't particularly need to be a Beatle fan to get this

"Not fit for the situation" as in "A fork is an inappropriate utensil for eating soup"
as well as
"In bad taste, vulgar". "Making a poster of the picture of the school's principal picking his nose, and displaying it at the school's entrance was very inappropriate".
Which of these two senses are we talking about here? |

It's bad taste to a certain extent, although not rude or vulgar. What I meant in this situation, was out of all the possible options, this answer was proably the most unlikely. This will become clearer when you find out more about the question |

In Norway, we have a very popular cartoon named "Pondus". In one episode, Pondus, the main character, was waiting at the luggage conveyors of an airport, as piece after bruised and smashed-up piece of luggage came out of the hole in the wall.
Finally, out of curiosity, Pondus pulls the curtain covering the hole aside, and looks into the luggage handling department on the other side. And, lo and behold, sees luggage handlers smasing suitcases, bags and other items with sledgehammers before letting them pass through to the other side.
Pondus' thought in the last frame: "Suspicion confirmed". |
