Were the stamps he bought intended to be placed on something which was subequently to be sent through the post? Or was it sent though the post? If so, was it returned due to insufficient postage? |

His death--accident? murder? suicide? Did he want to use the stamps to send a package? or a letter? Did he order medication of some sort, but because of insufficient postage, his order never came through and he died of illness? Oh and could you bold your answers please? |

Did he attempt to send a bomb (? or other lethal device) though the post to an intended victim? If so, was the package returned to him, making him the accidental victim of his own plot? |

Was he trying to send the package to a friend? relative? an organisation? Is his occupation relevant? The thing he tried to send--is it dangerous? valuable? a common, everyday item? Did he die before the package was sent back to him? Did he know that the package hadn't been sent? While sending it, was he aware that if the package wasn't received by the other party, he would die? And just in case that's an FA: if the package had been sent successfully, he wouldn't have died, correct? |

good one, though you should be aware that murder plots, unexpected deaths and (for some reason) the postal services are pretty regular features in these puzzles! In fact, if the man had been a dwarf, and couldn't reach the postbox, that would've been a full house! |

And he opened it! (Even less smart) Fun puzzle though. |
