Are any of the following relevant: security guards? cross-dressing? gender confusion? sports? public lavatories? espionage? Are "they" a specific group of people, or just all people he generally comes into contact with? By "gentleman" do you mean " a socially refined male adult" or something more specific? Eg "gentlemen and players"? Does he perform activities which seem chivalrous? If so, does he have an ulterior motive for these activities? |

Is he chivalrous in a general sense, or is/are there a specific/a few specific action(s) that he does? do we need to find out what they are? When he seems to be a gentleman, is he actually aiming to appear to be one? Does he behave this way sometimes when the mood strikes him, or do special circumstances need to be in place before he displays his chivalry? His occupation relevant? |

If he were to do the same thing to another man, and assuming the man accepts his gentlemanly offer, would he still achieve his motives? Where does he display his "chivalry"--at a restaurant/bar/pub? on the train, bus etc? at home? in the park, beach, or some other outdoor location? at work? |

Are they in the vehicle? Outside it? Walking on the road? Are they on the pavement? Does he walk on the outside, nearer to the road? Indeed, he is walking on the outside of the pavement closest to the road. This isn't quite enough to make him appear chivalrous yet, and you still need to find his yopish alterior motive. Good work tho'! |

(That was a really sneaky YES! earlier, if there was no-one else to see him carry out his actions, of course his objectives would be met. Because his objective is to avoid the crowd...) So, if the man is walking with a lady, he can offer to walk kerb-side of her, ostensibly to protect her from splashing of passing cars, but in fact he's using her as a kind of human shield from the crowds he hates? |

(That was a really sneaky YES! earlier, if there was no-one else to see him carry out his actions, of course his objectives would be met. Because his objective is to avoid the crowd...) very sneaky indeed of me, I admit! So, if the man is walking with a lady, he can offer to walk kerb-side of her, ostensibly to protect her from splashing of passing cars, but in fact he's using her as a kind of human shield from the crowds he hates? exactly right ***SPOILER*** I have a dread of crowds, and always choose to walk on the outside of the pavement - if I walk on the inside of a busy road I'm in a constant state of panic with the human traffic going up and down the road, and in and out of the shops. No-one that doesn't know me would know why I was doing this, or even pay it much attention. If I'm out with a female friend however, and it's been raining, I have on occasions been splashed by a passing vehicle. When this happens a lot of people point and laugh, but last month a girl on the other side of the road said to her boyfriend "You wouldn't do that for me!". If only they knew... Well done and thanks to everyone who joined in. |
