He stole by giving. When they gave to him, they stole the same thing he did. What he had stolen was never recovered. |

Was what was stolen something that could never be returned to the person who was deprived of it? Was the stolen thing (albeit not actually a thing) something which could be passed to another person? Was the stolen thing transferred from the robbed to the robber? Did the robber gain something tangible from robbing them? Or pleasure? Or status? |

Was what was stolen something that could never be returned to the person who was deprived of it? Yes. Although many have tried in various forms.(You can ignore the previous sentane, it has no bearing on this puzzle.) Was the stolen thing (albeit not actually a thing) something which could be passed to another person? No. Was the stolen thing transferred from the robbed to the robber? No. Did the robber gain something tangible from robbing them? No. Or pleasure?Yope. Or status?Yope. |

Just to clarify - the man gave something to the police, correct? Which led to them losing something, correct? Did he give them advice? Did he purport to help them solve a crime? If so, did this lead to the real perpetrator of the crime getting away? Or delayed in being caught? |

Just to clarify - the man gave something to the police, correct? No/FA. Which led to them losing something, correct? The police, no. Did he give them advice? Did he purport to help them solve a crime? No to both. If so, did this lead to the real perpetrator of the crime getting away? Or delayed in being caught? No to both. Fyi for Mycroft, this has to do with your FA. |

Spoiler! He was a murderer who worked in various mediums. Knifes, guns, poison, etc... He had the gall to leave the murder weapon at the scene, therefore 'giving' it to the victim. What he 'stole' was the victim's lives. Later the police caught up to him and gave him a bullet in the head. Thus ends the rampage of the unnamed, imaginary murderer dude "He". Thanks to all for playing, special kudos to Wunderland for the spoil. These are solving almost faster than I can think up new puzzles! Keep up the good work! |
