He spent most of the day doing it, and did it quite flawlessly...but it's been done thousands of times better before. I have a feeling this will go fast...but then again, last time I thought thought that, it took ages. |

did he do "it" once, and that one action took most of the day? or did he do "it" (which may not have taken much effort) numerous times, over the course of most of the day? could anyone do "it"? could he have done it better before himself? |

He is human? Has it been done thousands of times better by humans? Machines? Are there physical limitations stopping him from doing it better? Is it something he did inside? At work? Could it have been done better the day he did it? Could someone else do it at the same time he did? |

Does it involve solving an equation? Calculating Pi? |

Does it involve solving an equation? noish Calculating Pi?quite so. I knew this would go fast, but less than 10 posts? Damn. I feel almost ashamed at the simplicity. That's a SPOILER.... Akira Haraguchi spent 16 straight hours on Oct. 4 reciting the value of pi from memory to 100,000 decimal places, breaking his old record of 83,431. Haraguchi performed in front of officials at a public hall in Kisarazu, Japan, and rattled off the numbers continuously except for a five-minute break every hour. Of course in 2002, two University of Tokyo mathematicians, using a supercomputer, calculated pi to 1.24 trillion decimal places, in effect, 12,400 times better than Haraguchi |
