This is not a CA rulebreaker. I will answer questions in italics about the rule on a limited basis. Since I know it will be asked, the content of your posts ARE relevant. Begin!! |

So one character gets an answer beginning with A, 2 characters get an answer beginning with D, 3 gets I, 4 gets P, 5 gets Y, 6 gets J, 8 gets L.. adipyj.. in between a-d: 2 letters d-i: 4 i-p: 6 p-y: 8 y-j: 10 So it's a lovely little geometric progression? So something with 7 characters would get an answer starting with W? |

Oh well, this is going to be painful o answer yeah, well... a? da b? dee c? doo d? duh e? diddly f? doodly g? dodeoddedo h? doubledy i? duddley j? doolittle k? doolots l? duel m? d's are driving me CRAZY!!!! n? D o? D p? DDD q? DDDDD r? DDDDDDD s? DDDDDDDDD t? DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD u? D v? D w? D x? D y? D z? D. So one character gets an answer beginning with A, 2 characters get an answer beginning with D, 3 gets I, 4 gets P, 5 gets Y, 6 gets J, 8 gets L..yes adipyj.. yes in between a-d: 2 letters d-i: 4 i-p: 6 p-y: 8 y-j: 10 True, but this is a consequence of my rule and not my rule itself So it's a lovely little geometric progression?yes, but my method is different than what you've laid out, albeit with the same result. So something with 7 characters would get an answer starting with W?indeed it would I guess, in one sense, you have figured out the rule...you would at least be able to answer any question with an answer that is in accordance to the rule...but before I spoil, I wonder if you can figure out the actual method that I used that happened to result in a arithmetic progression that I had not thought about, even though in hindsight its quite obvious. |

Did you square the number of characters, then used the letter that corresponded with the result? ie. 1 square = 1--A 2 square = 4--D 3 square = 9--I 4 square = 16-P That would explain the title! |

Did you square the number of characters, then used the letter that corresponded with the result? Yes!!! That's a spoiler!! Well done. ie. 1 square = 1--A 2 square = 4--D 3 square = 9--I 4 square = 16-P That would explain the title!Indeed! |
