Hint/Clarification/Blooper Alert Alright, I think I should clear this up... What he said SOUNDED like "fox". He did not say the word meaning to say it like the animal, but that was how it looked to him, and how it sounded coming from his mouth. Therein lies the poor pronunciation part. Alright, keep guessing! | ||

Ok this one is really bugging me. Since it was matts pronounciation that was wrong then this word isn't a Homophone? But if anyone read this word phonetically then the word would sound like Fox? Faux phoentically would sound like Fakes with the a having a long sound and the u being silent unless im mistaken? | ||

Phonetically, at least in the US, faux would sound like fox, the "au" being pronounced like in automobile or august. | ||

Faux? YES!! I think that's good enough for a *******SPOILER****** Jenna loves animal furs, and has quite a nice collection. She take sher son out one day to go shopping, and asks him to find her a Fox fur coat. He sees the word "faux", and tells his mother that he found a "fox" fur coat. She buys it, only to discover later, that it is fake, hence, "faux", which Matt didn't realize is pronounced "Fo". Good job everyone! Please keep trying my other puzzles, Seconds and Triganometry! |
