the person who wrote the words, did he misspell anything?
was a crime involved?
a robbery? bank robbery?
if so, did the person who wrote the words demand cash?

were any of these words involved?"hand me...your"

I think I was misleading in the opening sentence. Instead of all the vowels, add the words a few consanants in there

ambidextrous?
doesn't make sense, but the vowels fit and it took me all of 5 seconds to come up with, so i think its a clear winner :-D

but seriously, The five vowels all appear only once?
and in the order of the title?
is it one word? or a short phrase?
that would be used in legal contracts?

no other flashes of inspiration like my first one, so i'll leave it there for now.

actually, I like the puzzle statement as is. no need to mention the consonants.. but that doesn't mean that there aren't any ;)

are vowels relevant beyond that fact that they arrange in that order when you remove consonants?

is more than one word relevant?
1 word?
under 10 words?
was the person who wrote words a human? adult? male?
did he commit a crime?
think about commiting a crime?
was a crime committed against him?

so if the above is not true, do we still need to reveal specifically which vowels and consonants were written with the result of saving money.... as in the puzzle statement?

was "ambidextrous" written?

is left relevant?
right relevant?
is there relevance to writing lefty? righty?
is somone's handwriting relevant?

lol, i had no idea that was gonna be correct. in fact i'd pretty much convinced myself it wasn't.

ambidextrous - using the modern meaning, being equally capable with either hand? or is the root 'dexter' meaning right hand relevent? as opposed to 'sinister' for left hand?

the persons job is relevent - is it a job where it is an advantage to be ambidextrous?
does the person do the work of two people?

Was he supposed to sign a cheque, or another legal document, but signed it with the "wrong" hand, rather the hand he doesn't normally use to sign, hence rendering the signature and the cheque void, but seeming valid to the scammer, thus leading him on?

Long shot, but any multiple personality sorta thing involved? Schizophrenia?

Maybe the almost victim and the preventer were twins? If not, related in any way to eachother?

W00t! I love that going with your gut helps in these puzzles

Ok, so can I assume that the almost-victim and the preventer were in face two psycho-manifestations of the same person?

So the scammer was trying to take the weaker side of the person for a ride, but the stronger side kicked in, and using the fact that they both had different handwritings, prevented the scam?

Here I am assuming that the two personalities had different handwritings. FA?

If so, maybe the fact that the individual could write with both hands helped him write something faster?

I want to establish the roles in the puzzle. personality 1 = A, personality 2 = B, and third person = C (here im assuming that the 3 roles are fulfilled by 2 ppl, 1 normal and the other split-personality)

Scammer --> A? B? C?
Almost-victim ---> A? B? C?

Let me take a stab at this. Is the scammer a handwriting analysis company that purports to be able to divine your personality from your handwriting?

If not, is it even relevant what the ambidextrous person wrote?
Or just the way he wrote it?
I assume that the scam itself is the crime?
Or are there other crimes involved?

An AmbIdExtOUs person stopped a scamming company that said they could prove one's personality by ones handwriting. Our hero stopped them by going in, getting a personality, going in again and writes with his OTHER hand, and gets a completely different personality!
