Ed McMahon or the likes showing up at his door? A public announcement? Did Graham have to pay money to enter this lottery? Did Graham have to submit a form? Did somebody actually win the lottery? ok, just jumping in... making sure I understand the lotto card (not sure I can quite visualize this one)-- so there were only two boxes on the card, correct? one box with the correct temperature and one with a random number? and Graham had to pick which box he wanted to scratch, and when he saw the number he thought that the number he had selected was the correct temperature? was wind chill involved? maybe he thought it was really cold outside because of the wind chill factor, but the "real temperature" was higher than what the temperature felt like? |

********** SPOILER *********** In November, Britain's new weather-themed Cool Cash lottery game was canceled after one day because too many players failed to understand the rules. Each card had a visible temperature and a temperature to be scratched off, and the purchaser would win if the scratched-off temperature was "lower" than the visible one. Officials said they had received "dozens" of complaints from players who could not understand why, for example, minus-5 is not a lower temperature than minus-6. [Manchester Evening News, 11-3-07] Nice work guys. Thought this one would last a little longer. Well done! |
