Is 112 the emergency number used in Europe (like 911 in the USA)? Or is it the band "112"?
There, like in a certain country? city? region?

By the way, should "Livery" be "Delivery" in the list of professions?

Recap/hint

Bill is a criminal. It is highly relevant what kind of criminal, so explore. Something happens to him, that makes him scared. At the scene is his mother and then, some time later 2-3 other persons. There is also one more relevant person in this puzzle.

Everyone's job is relevant, except for Bill's mother. So what are the jobs of the 2-3 people and the non-present person?

I seem to have made a slight blooper earlier, as I overlooked one of the entries on the list of jobs. The 2-3 people should be Security/Law enforcement. The last, non-present person is working in Food service (or at least this was the closest one on the list). Find out exactly what his job is.

His job would only Yes-ishly be Food Service. As I said, the kind of job he has is not really on the list. But it is a very common one. He also deals with other things than food in his job.

Hint: As I mentioned before, I couldn't find this job on the list, even though it is possibly the most common jobs around. The person in this story is working with food and possibly something else, but similar jobs exists for other types of goods as well. I would assume most of us deal with a person working in this field at least once every day.

Obviously the list needs to be amended, lol

Would dialing 112 on a mobile phone do something such as call a pre-defined emergency number? It refers to the emergency number, yes. My idea was that if he had it stored on his mobile, the police might have arrived earlier. Now, why would a criminal want the police to arrive??

To freshen up this puzzle.

Bill is a criminal, he's involved in fraud. He and his mother are at the scene and a while later 2-3 police show up. There is one more person that is relevant for the puzzle, a grocery store owner.

The exact nature of Bill's crime is relevant. Some may call it swindling. It has to do with getting loads of money quickly.

Was he forging money? This Or something else, like cash coupons at the grocery? Tombola or lottery tickets? Is the grocer and the forgery connected at all? In a way. Explore what he did after forging the money. And why is his mum so angry with him?

Well - did he actually (try to) swindle his mother? Or the grocer?

Maybe give a try at my puzzles too? They are getting stale.. for no reason at all (in my opinion)

Well - did he actually (try to) swindle his mother? Sort of Or the grocer? His target wasn't the grocer as such. But...

Maybe give a try at my puzzles too? They are getting stale.. for no reason at all (in my opinion) I'll see if I can come up with some "intelligent" to ask!

Had his mother somehow obtained the forged money, and tried to buy something at the grocery store with it? If yes, did he give it to her deliberately? Exchange money? Did he force her to use the forged money?

Other than himself, who was the first to realize that the money was forged? The grocer? The police? His mother?

This, but she didn't know Did he force her to use the forged money? Not as such, just that he replaced her own money with the counterfeit ones

Other than himself, who was the first to realize that the money was forged? The grocer? This The police? His mother?

Almost done now, good round of questions

Did he secretly give the counterfeit bills to his mother to spend so he could test if the bills would pass for real currency?

Did the mother go to the grocer and try to spend the money? Did the grocer realize the bills were fake? Did he realize it immediately when the mother tried to spend them or did he only realize it later? Did the grocer call the police?

Did Bill call the police? Did the police realize Bill was the counterfeiter and arrest him?

If Bill had had the number in his mobile phone, would he have called earlier? Would the police have arrived earlier? Would they still have arrived at home or would they have arrived somewhere else? The grocery store?

Did the grocer give something to the mother that helped the police to track down Bill? Anything related to a mobile phone?

Did the grocer give something to the mother that helped the police to track down Bill? Anything related to a mobile phone? No to both. I said he did something, but maybe 'did' isn't the right word

Did the grocer blame mother for trying to cheat him? Yelling foul words at her? Did the angry mother hit Bill when she returned home, bruising him?

Were the police called? By the grocer? The mother? Bill himself (to protect himself from his motherīs attack)?

Did the grocer blame mother for trying to cheat him? Yes Yelling foul words at her? Probably Did the angry mother hit Bill when she returned home, bruising him? And yes

Were the police called? Yes, after a little while By the grocer? The mother? Bill himself (to protect himself from his motherīs attack)? But by none of these.

It's almost solved, just find out who called the police. Hint: His mother was kicking up a fuzz when she came back from the grocer. She was not quiet.

The neighbors called the police? Yes, this was the last piece.

This is a true story I read in the paper a while ago about a man from Hungary or Bulgaria. He was making counterfeit money, and decided to replace some of them with his own mother's cash. She went to the grocer to shop, but was told off by the grocer for handing over counterfeit money.

Understanding what her son had done, she furiously went back to the appartment and started giving out to him, and also hitting him, because of the embarrasment he had put her through. The noise became so bad that the neighbours had to call the police. And when they showed up, he eagerly admitted to his crime so that they would arrest him and take him away from his mother's rage.
