A man had a particular piece of music played at his funeral that he'd also had at his wedding, but this time it made people laugh. This is based on a bit in a recent newspaper, so if it seems instantly familiar, then please email. |

Were the people who laughed actually at his funeral? Were some of them also at his wedding? Your puzzle statement implies that they didnt find the song amusing at his wedding is this correct? Is his wife still alive? Is this relevant? Did he get divorced? Relevant how many time he was married? Is this a piece of music that one would normally associate with church services? Is it an instrumental or are there lyrics to it? If so were the lyrics sung at the funeral? Was he buried or cremated? Is this relevant? Location of the funeral relevant? Cause of death relevant? Think that's enough to start with LOL |

Is this piece something that is associated with most weddings? (Like the Bridal Chorus, Pachelbel's Cannon, or Hornpipe for recessional) Some weddings? (Like Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring or To Life [Jewish]) Few Weddings? (The Throne Room [From Star Wars] or Ashplant) This piece wasn't played by mistake, was it? Was the humor in... The tone of the piece? (Triumphant rather than sorrowful?) A memory associated with the piece? The title of the piece? Is the song from a movie? And is a particular scene relevant? |

Dicygnet Is this piece something that is associated with most weddings? (Like the Bridal Chorus, Pachelbel's Cannon, or Hornpipe for recessional)I hadn't realised it was, but apparently it is for the same reasons as those you mention are popular Some weddings? (Like Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring or To Life [Jewish]) All I know is that it is popular for weddings, and as it's pleasant, I can understand its appeal Few Weddings? (The Throne Room [From Star Wars] or Ashplant) It would be more popular than those for a wedding This piece wasn't played by mistake, was it? no Was the humor in... The tone of the piece? (Triumphant rather than sorrowful?) A memory associated with the piece? The title of the piece? this one Is the song from a movie? And is a particular scene relevant? no, no |

Dicygnet Sheep may safely graze Memories still makes me feel nauseous - not because I don't like it but because it's on a video of some ice skating and I was pregnant with our second child at the time, and forever after the association has been too great! Oh, and congratulations on your wedding - hope all goes well |

Did the humour come from the fact that he was a butcher, or shepherd, or sheep-murderer or similar? And therefore his being alive was dangerous for sheep? |

Just to cover my bases... is Spike Milligan relevant? Or is it just a funny funeral puzzle title? |
