(1)If they can do it, then I can do it. (2)They did it. (3)Therefore, I can do it. Essentially, but you're really going around in circles here. This has been dead for a while, and you guys are pretty close anyway, so I'm going to go ahead and post the *********************SPOILER********************* This is actually an old anecdote that's sometimes told about Benjamin Franklin. Apparently, Franklin was a vegetarian for a time because he had moral qualms about eating animals. However, one time he was on an ocean voyage, and the sailors had caught some fish that he really wanted to eat. He wasn't sure if he should, though, but then he remembered that when the sailors had been cutting up the fish, they'd seen small fish inside the big fish. Thus, he felt justified in eating the fish, as he reasoned that if fish ate fish, so could he. |
