Insects? Fish? This one. Is he some sort of inventor? The actual person this story is about was an inventor of sorts, but that's totally irrelevant to the puzzle. |

Did the fish's action give him an idea for a creation of some sort? Also, just in case, since it hasn't been asked, he(1) = he(2)? |

Did the fish's action give him an idea for a creation of some sort? No. Also, just in case, since it hasn't been asked, he(1) = he(2)? Yes. Oh, and does the title of this puzzle have any sort of double meaning? No, not at all. The solution is actually really simple. I thought it would have been guessed by now. I'll give more hints if necessary. |

Did he reason that, because they did it, he could do it, also? Did he, because they did, reason that he could also do it? Did, because they, he, did, reason he could also, it? Because did it they, he also reason could do it, he? Because it was done by them, he reasoned that it could be done by him? (1)If they can do it, then I can do it. (2)They did it. (3)Therefore, I can do it. If they didn't do it, would he reason that he couldn't do it? Did he know that they did it? Did they actually do it? If it was done by them, would it also eventually be done by him? |

Did he reason that, because they did it, he could do it, also? Yes. Did he, because they did, reason that he could also do it? Yesish. Did, because they, he, did, reason he could also, it? PLEASE clarify. Because did it they, he also reason could do it, he? No, it's not THAT complicated. Because it was done by them, he reasoned that it could be done by him? Yope. (1)If they can do it, then I can do it. (2)They did it. (3)Therefore, I can do it. Essentially, but you're really going around in circles here. If they didn't do it, would he reason that he couldn't do it? Did he know that they did it? Yes. Did they actually do it? Yes. If it was done by them, would it also eventually be done by him? Yesish, but I don't fully understand the question here. You're going about it the wrong way. The solution is actually really simple. Think about something fish and people both do. |

You said to explore different meanings of the puzzle statement. Those are all the different interpretations my feeble mind can conjure. Is it swimming? Breathing? Looking? Seeing? Tasting? Eating? Jumping? Flying? Diving? Swimming? Doing a barrel roll? Getting caught? Flopping around? Smelling? Stretching? Swimming? |

This has been dead for a while, and you guys are pretty close anyway, so I'm going to go ahead and post the *********************SPOILER********************* This is actually an old anecdote that's sometimes told about Benjamin Franklin. Apparently, Franklin was a vegetarian for a time because he had moral qualms about eating animals. However, one time he was on an ocean voyage, and the sailors had caught some fish that he really wanted to eat. He wasn't sure if he should, though, but then he remembered that when the sailors had been cutting up the fish, they'd seen small fish inside the big fish. Thus, he felt justified in eating the fish, as he reasoned that if fish ate fish, so could he. |
