Was she previously in darkness? Unable to see?

Was the light directly connected with the "instrument of death," so to speak? Just a signal? Only tangential?

I know it's been made clear that the light itself isn't from a supernatural source. Is the supernatural involved in another way?

Was her death a direct result of her illness in relation to seeing the light (such as eg. if you are allergic to pollen, breathe it and eventually choke)? Yes.

*****SPOILER*****
She had a serious case of untreated photosensitive epilepsy, and saw a rapidly flashing light (not too relevant where, although lights on a police car would probably do), which she realized would (most likely) kill her, due to the seizure it would induce.

This is my first puzzle to be solved. :-) Thank you for playing, and check out my other puzzles.
