Mpc Kaygee, care to get us going? This thread is only active once kaygee unlocks it. It will auto lock on sunday night (a week from now). Shouldn't take the whole week though for a close observer. [locked] |

Hey, sorry this has taken me so long to post! I am actually going to amend the starting number to something more functional. I saw this as a sign in NYC and stared at it for about 3 minutes before finally realizing its function. 21585997020101 21585998020101 21585999020101 21590000020100 21590001020100 Those are the first five iterations, the next several should follow simply. If you understand how these numbers work together you understand their function and then must place them in to a common category to tell us WHY they are related as they are. That's it, have fun! KG - sure, ask away...I doubt it would help because the context seems out of place. All the info you need is above. DP - only mods can lock threads, sure. But as the author I can choose when I will or will not answer questions =) |

Was this a digital sign that changed the numbers at regular intervals? |

Was this sign owned by an individual? A business? A not-for-profit organization? A government entity? Is this sign made of metal? Wood? Paper? Something else? Were there any other signs that said things like,

It has happened upon me, a feeling that clarity is needed. This sign was first the first line, then the second line, then the third line and so on. It was not all of these numbers together. The sign is made of LEDs (many of them, as it was a large sign) which displayed those numbers, one line at a time. I believe the sign was owned by an office building, but irr. I can't stress enough that who owns it, where it was, or why it was there are all irr. Well, the why it is there...maaaybe relevant, but I feel it was there only to, like a puzzle, make people go, "huh" and try to solve it. It is not the most clear way of portraying its other message, therefore I must assume the puzzle purpose as its primary function. |

Was it to remind people of the impossibly many digits of e or pi or some kind of transcendental number? |

From what I surmise, it would be... 21585997020101 21585998020101 21585999020101 21590000020100 21590001020100 And then it would be 21590002020100 21590003020100 21590004020100 21590005020100 The way I see it, the first eight numbers designate the time in 24 hour clock in the form HH:MM:SS.XX The next six numbers indicate a countdown to midnight, indicated in the form of HH:MM:SS |

You got it. Took me a few minutes to see that. I thought it was cool that a random building, with no other motive than to put something out there, would just put a puzzle on its side. Bravo building. Bravo. |

I had to stare at the numbers for like 20 minutes to see that. I copied them into paint and drew stuff on it... Nice puzzle. |
