Let's call the soldier who was shot A, and his army Army A. The soldier who shot him, and the victorious army, will be Soldier B and Army B. Is this a true story? Is the specific war relevant? If so, LTPF list of centuries and wars. Is any specific technology, tactic, or political theory relevant? Was Soldier A a loyal member of Army A, or was he actually a member of Army B in disguise? I always get a bit confused with A's and B's. So to keep from getting confused, we'll switch soldier A to Abe, and soldier B, to Bill, which rephrases the statement to Abe was shot and killed by a soldier, Bill, from the opposing Army (army B). Army B won, but Bill who shot Abe was tried with murder. Is this a true story? Was he killed after the war? Before the war? You say it was the civil war. I assume that means Bill was for the Union and Abe was for the Confederacy? Correct? Assuming I am correct: Was Bill tried for murder by the United States government? By the government in the state in which he resided in? The municipality in which he resided in? Did he live in a state that was on the Confederate Side? The Union Side? That was a slave state that did not secede and so fought for the Union? Also, was Bill born in a state that would later join the Confederacy? Was Abe born in a state that would later be on the Union side? Were either of them born in a slave state? You already answered different forms of this question, but I need to clarify: if the shooting happened after the war was over, and the soldiers were not combatants guided by the rules of war, then it seems that any shooter in that circumstance would be charged with murder unless there was some legal justification. Yet, you are saying this is not why he was charged with murder, correct? You also answered that both soldiers were neither loyal to their respective armies, nor were they acting for the opposing armies, correct? Were the solders mercenaries? Were they non-citizens? I missed something -- how did we establish it's a re-enactment? Is that the solution -- there was some kind of commemorative event after the end of the war wherein a battle or duel was reenacted for the cameras, and one of the participants, a confederate soldier, had a loaded revolver? | ||
