Was anyone pregnant? Did certain invitees insist on bringing spouses or friends? Were the extra six people not invitees per se, but were still supposed to be there -- caterers, entertainers, etc? | ||

Did the other 5 people happen to be there due to some circumstance, for eg. maybe there was a fire and firemen had to be called, or maybe the medics came because someone was taken ill, or something like that? And please, put your answers in bold, it's much easier to distinguish them. | ||

Were they performers of some sort? Is this a typical birthday party (everyone gathers around a cake with candles, then the birthday boy rips into a bunch of presents)? Is it a themed party? Is it relevant where the party was? If so, was it at someone's home? At a commercial location (a restaurant, bowling alley, miniature golf, etc)? Does it matter how old the birthday boy (or girl?) is? Were the extra attendees invited by someone else? Were they asked to come but not strictly invited (ie, hired or something like that)? Is it a custom of some sort in your family/ethnic group/nationality etc to have extra people at a birthday party? If this was a party for some purpose other than a birthday, would the puzzle still work? | ||

To sum everything up, "I", along with 5 other people who share the same birthday decides to have a birthday party together, 30 people were invited, and they all showed up. So during the party there was a total of 36 people present. | ||
