Physics relevant? Metal relevant? Are they more likely to be found during ill health?

Are they: Organs? A component of blood? Cells? Enzymes? Would an anatomist solve this faster than someone with casual knowledge of human biology?

I'm not sure how to answer this question without throwing you off, so I'll just tell you that it's hair.

Does the name have any significance to the puzzle? Yes, but like all my puzzles, the title is VERY VERY vaguely relevant, and figuring out what it means won't help you.
Dose it have anything to do with the micro hairs in the inner ear? No, but OTRT by not asking about the hair on the head.

Does "hair" refer to the general idea or hair like that on the exterior of your body?

Does "hair" refer to some other tissue in the body in the sense that it is hair like and thus reffed to as hairs? (sorry i don't really have any good examples)

So we're looking for something related to eyebrows that cannot be found with X-rays?

Are they usually found in eyebrows? Are they ever found outside eyebrows? Water relevant? Lice relevant?

Actually, the 'them' in the puzzle refers to the eyebrows themselves.

Restatement of puzzle: Even X-rays cannot find the eyebrows!

Does this puzzle refer to a specific set of eyebrows, or to eyebrows in general?

If the former: are the eyebrows still attached to someone's head?

Roots of the eyebrows?

I'm pretty lost at this point, so I'm spitting into the wind to see if anything will come back.

Indianforce: The Mona Lisa? Perfect.

*****SPOILER*****
The Mona Lisa was painted without eyebrows, and x-rays show that underneath the painting, several drafts were drawn as well. Apparently, it was the style then to pluck your eyebrows.

Significance of title: The eyes of the Mona Lisa are well known for following you wherever you stand. Quite eerie.

THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO PLAYED, and congrats to Indianforce for solving!
