A man does something against regulations, and a woman he has never met is very pleased. |

Regulations such as law? Some sort of internal regulations? Highway code? Is the woman somehow related to him? Is she pleased because there is some benefit for her? Because she escapes a danger? Do they live in the same period? Is it relevant when it happened? |

Is the man an athlete? If so, Did he win as a result of what he did? Did he violate an "unwritten rule" of his sport (like in baseball how they say no bunting to break up a no hitter) or a written rule (like the offsides rule in soccer)? Does he play a team sport? Or is he an individual competitor? Dod the woman bet on him to win? and make money as a result? Or was he forced to forfeit and the woman bet on him to lose? |

So, the regulation that he broke was not just that he had a person ride in a freight train? No, that would be the major regulation. I'm looking through the questions trying to figure out if I answered something wrong that would make you think that wasn't the regulation he broke... Did I mislead somewhere? Right, there was a regulation that h Did he damage what he was transporting in some way? Did he lose some of it? Did he damage the train? Does his broken regulation have something to do with time, for example, he stopped en route and was therefore late? The first regulation he broke was stopping the train en route, but not because he ended up being late. The major one was letting someone on the train. No to rest. |

No, you didn't mislead, I just figured that if that was the case, we already would have solved the puzzle. So I guess my real question is, Do we only need to figure out how the son's train ride led him back to his mother? And followin up on Noel's questions, did the son intend to ride the train? Did he board accidentally? Did he board on purpose, but didn't expect it to move? Did he ride it on purpose but intended to go somewhere other than he did? |

Yes If so, mountains? rivers? desert? This! coastal? other? Do we only need to figure out how the son's train ride led him back to his mother? There is a story here that is quite unique. Figuring out the circumstances of the son's train ride is mostly it. I will say that the conductor broke a few regulations that will make perfect sense in the whole story. (Gourami) And followin up on Noel's questions, did the son intend to ride the train? No Did he board accidentally? Yopeish? Did he board on purpose, but didn't expect it to move? No Did he ride it on purpose No but intended to go somewhere other than he did? No |

Was the train crossing the desert? Yes Did the man give the son water? Yes, I'm sure he did. Was the son stranded in the desert? Yes And the man stopped the train to pick him up? Yes! ****************Spoiler****************** This is a true story of a friend of mine who drove to the desert to take his own life. He drove as far into the desert as possible until his car broke down and then began walking. After spending a night and a day he had a change of heart but was 30-40 miles from any town with no car. He spotted a train in the distance. He began making his way towards the tracks but became dehydrated and passed out. Not long after, the conductor of a cattle train spotted my friend in the distance as he approached, stopped the train and carried my friend on-board. Thankfully he gave him water and brought him to the hospital in the next town. This was in Nevada, whereas his mother lived in California, but she was called and was very thankful that her son was still alive. This event began the reconciliation process with my friend and his mother. It is very much against the regulations of this train company to stop anywhere (especially in the desert) because of the chance of overheating the animals, let alone pick anyone up. Good job to all, you know where my next one will be ladies and gents. |
