Is some one saying this? Am i looking for the situation in which one might say this? situation in which one would be unable, for any number of reasons, to make a cup of tea? "can't" = physically incapable? could but it would be morally wrong? could but incompetence is hindering you? "nice" = good? appropriate for the situation? "cup of tea" = a physical cup of tea? just a figure of speech intended to represent something else? you = H?A?M? Relevant? |

"Why" = why can't you make a nice cup of tea? why is someone saying the statement in quotes? Why is it notable that "you" can't make a nice cup of tea? |

I suppose the first part of the sentence - the one you left out - is far more important than the tea? So that the person is incapable to make a cup of tea AND something else? Is the tea related to the "something else"? |

Is the person unable to make a nice cup of tea because ...the have no teabags or tealeaves? They have no means of boiling water? They simply do not know how to make a cup of tea? they are pysically incapable due to some incapacitation? a disability? Can they make tea but not nice tea? Is the speaker expressing an opinion or fact? Are they using some sort of tea substitute? |

Does "you" refer to a person the speaker addresses? Or does it have a more general meaning? Would "...and one can't even make a nice cup of tea" mean more or less the same? |

So it would be impossible for anyone to make a nice cup of tea? Is the boiling point of water relevant? Would it be possible to make a nice cup of coffee? A glass of hot milk? To fry eggs? If no, would it be impossible for the same reason you can't make a nice cup of tea? |

Is the location relevant? Is this on Earth? Or Sci-Fi? If on Earth, are weather conditions relevant? Does this happen in present day? Real? Fiction? Something you made up? |

Is the person speaking identical with the "you" in the puzzle statement (ie would it be possible to say: "I can't even make..) The impossibility to make a nice cup of tea: is it due to lack of time? space? ingredients? conditions? Is the problem that the person has the means to make a cup of tea but their quality is not sufficient to make a NICE one? |

***SPOILER*** You've got it! Water boils at 69°C at the top of Mt. Everest, which is not hot enough to extract the full flavor of tea leaves (or coffee beans). Thanks for playing (: |
