My first puzzle - not sure if it's "lateral thinking" or not. Should be pretty easy. /// Ellie's relatives like swimming. She doesn't. She swims regularly nonetheless. |

Welcome to the forum (: Is it her job? Is she forced to? Is she HAF? Both "she" = Ellie? Is swimming better than the alternative? Is there a particular reason she doesn't like swimming? Would it help to know that reason? Has she never liked swimming? Did something happen to make her dislike swimming? |

So she just plain dislikes swimming, and we don't need to explore why further? Does she swim with her relatives? Does she swim for the same reason as them? Swimming=the specific action of swimming, or just generally being in water? Relevant where she swims? If so: pool? Lake? Sea? River? Other? Does she swim to: get away from something? Get relief/treat some medical condition? Get excercise? Get somewhere? does she swim: Several times a day? Daily? Weekly? Monthly? Yearly? Even less? |

HAF: human, adult, female does she dislike: the swimming she does about every week? Swimming in general? Is it done: indoors? Outdoors? Inside a structure? Is she swimming in plain water? Or is there something special with it? Something disgusting? Does she dive? Is she wearing a bikini, swimsuit or other casual swimwear? Or a wetsuit? Diving equipment? Other? Does she swim at the same location every time? Does she swim alone? does she dislike swimming in general because of the purpose of this specific swimming? Relevant how long she has been doing it? |

when someone asks HAF, they're actually asking three separate questions: Is she a Human? Adult? Female? So when you answer it, you should answer it as such. You can say "yes" if all three are true, or "no to all three" if all three are wrong, but if it's yes to some and no to others, then answer each one separately. I'm interpreting your answer right now as she's a non-human male(or genderless) child. Is this a correct interpretation? Welcome to the forum! |

Thank you for the clarification. She's nonhuman, so is she a fish? A duck? An otter? A dolphin or whale? A different swimming animal? Is she a microscopic organism? |

Yes. ***SPOILER*** Ellie is a pet ferret who swims in the bathtub every time her owner needs to bathe her. She's not a big fan of it. Some of her "relatives" like swimming a lot; this can refer to certain other pet ferrets but especially refers to the truly aquatic members of the Mustelidae family: otters. |
