No I believe we have a **********SPOILER********** William Holden's acceptance speech for his Best Actor Oscar (for his portrayal of Sgt. J.J. Sefton in Stalag 17) at the 26th Academy Awards consisted of two words: "Thank you." He hadn't intended to be so brief, but the TV broadcast was running long and about to be cut off the air. Holden later put out an ad in the Hollywood trade publications thanking everyone he'd wanted to thank on Oscar night. At the time, this was the shortest Oscar acceptance speech in history. The record was later broken twice, first by Alfred Hitchcock in 1967, then by John Mills in 1971.
