Probably biting off more than I can chew But here's a new puzzle type for you. The usual neologistic rules apply And another condition with which you must comply Without wanting to sound too terse I'll only answer questions posted in verse. To partake in this light hearted distraction You have to define the following action I MARISI quite a bit at present It's nothing nasty in fact quite pleasent So to prove yourself a puzzling world beater Define the verb to MARISI according to Peter. |

Can anyone at all MARISI, And is it doing something easy? Can one MARISI indoors or out, In order to do what this all is about? Is it possible to do this in A car? A house? A diner? An inn? And one more question, on a whim: Is this neologism an acronym? |

Can anyone at all MARISI, And is it doing something easy? Can one MARISI indoors or out, In order to do what this all is about? I can say this without any qualms, It is mainly done by HAFs & HAMs. Inside, outside, night or day. If you want to Marisi then you may. Is it possible to do this in A car? A house? A diner? An inn? And one more question, on a whim: Is this neologism an acronym? Not wishing to gave too many clues, You can Marisi wherever you choose. An acronym now isn't that quaint I can say categorically "No it aint" |

Can you Marisi together, or lone? Is a tangible object in place when you're done? Do you need anything but your body an mind? Is Marisi a thing you can do if you're blind? Or if deaf, paraplegic, a toddler or child? Can a house cat Marisi? Can birds in the wild? Is it fun? Is it useful? Or healthy? Serene? Or exciting? Expensive? Or does it bring green? If I said "you Marisi me", would I make sense? "I Marisied at her" would that be an offense? Can I see you Marisi, or is it not obvious? Versponses are great, thanks a lot for amusing us. |

Can you Marisi together, or lone? Is a tangible object in place when you're done? Do you need anything but your body an mind? Is Marisi a thing you can do if you're blind? You can Marisi with another bod, But mostly you'd be on your tod. Your body and mind would help a bit, But you definitely need some type of kit. As for sightlessness I'm in a bit of a bind, I'm not sure if you could do if you're blind Or if deaf, paraplegic, a toddler or child? Can a house cat Marisi? Can birds in the wild? Is it fun? Is it useful? Or healthy? Serene? Or exciting? Expensive? Or does it bring green? Deaf ,Paraplegic I'd have to say aye Toddlers only eat and cry. As for child they could do the biz Provided they were a bit of a wiz. With regard to the rest of your list Some are hits others missed Health, Serenity, Expensive, Green, None of these, know what i mean As for useful, exciting or fun, The middle is the most likely one. If I said "you Marisi me", would I make sense? "I Marisied at her" would that be an offense? Can I see you Marisi, or is it not obvious? Versponses are great, thanks a lot for amusing us. If the first two lines were your quotes I'd send for the men in white coats, If i Marisi you could see, assuming you were in my company. Having posted this puzzle I'm now despondent, It's very difficult being the respondent. |

Is Marisi-ing done with a paper and pen? Are the object(s) depleted, or useful again? Could you do this a century past, even two? Is the prop that is needed bigger than you? Is it some sort of game? Is it skill? Is it luck? Can you excel at Marisi, and can you suck? |

Does Marisi-ing require brains, and then some, Intelligence that of a member of MENSA? Does one need supplies for this activity, Coins, cards, or handkerchiefs in ord'r to Marisi? Perhaps to Marisi, you need slight of hand, A nice little bit of legerdemain? Does one Marisi with his or her entire Body, or only a part of it, sire? Is the item needed for Marisi-ing food? Or maybe a game, perhaps a film that's good? In order to Marisi, would it take much time, Or if in a hurry, would you be fine? Can one Marisi at all times of day, Or must one wait for light for this to be okay? If not that, perchance the vice versa is true, Only at nighttime can Marisi-ing you do? Is this forum involved? Or maybe this is relevant: Does this thing require one of the four elements? Earth, perhaps water, maybe fire or air; And you're doing excellent; please do not despair. |

So we've established it's a happy thing? A thing that brings us quite a bit of fun? A deed that does no damage when it's done? Can it be done in Winter, Fall, or Spring? Or do we need the weather to be hot, Or dry, at least, as in the racing season? And if you did it, would I know the reason? Do you get paid for doing it, or not? The kit involved: would this perhaps be spherical, Rectangular? Or thin? Or elongate? A fishing rod, or reel, or net, or bait? Or something techy, nerdy and numerical? Oh God, I'm such a lousy sonneteer. I think I'd better leave my questions here. |

Is it skill? Is it luck? Can you excel at Marisi, and can you suck? No paper and pen will you require And the object used does not expire. This could only be done in recent times, A bit like puzzling just in rhymes. The prop is smaller than your puzzle hoster, But a bit bigger than let's say a toaster. There is not involved any game, And as for luck & skill response the same. Don't get frustrated, down or sad but at this verb there's neither good nor bad. |

Does Marisi-ing require brains, and then some, Intelligence that of a member of MENSA? Does one need supplies for this activity, Coins, cards, or handkerchiefs in ord'r to Marisi? Composing this couplet is like shelling peas I can simply say no, to all of these Perhaps to Marisi, you need slight of hand, A nice little bit of legerdemain? Does one Marisi with his or her entire Body, or only a part of it, sire? Hmm Sire... at last a show of respect, Well i suppose it's the least I could expect. Let's move on, this puzzle lingers, To Marisi you don't need magicians fingers. More than one part of the body is employed whenever the object is deployed Is the item needed for Marisi-ing food? Or maybe a game, perhaps a film that's good? In order to Marisi, would it take much time, Or if in a hurry, would you be fine? No to Marisi you don't need anything edible, Or films or games I hope that's credible. To Marisi does not take very long, About the length of your average pop song. Can one Marisi at all times of day, Or must one wait for light for this to be okay? If not that, perchance the vice versa is true, Only at nighttime can Marisi-ing you do? Hard to say if you're wrong or right 'Cos you can Marisi both day and night Is this forum involved? Or maybe this is relevant: Does this thing require one of the four elements? Earth, perhaps water, maybe fire or air; O my Lord I thank thee so To all of these a big fat NO!. And you're doing excellent; please do not despair. So we've established it's a happy thing? A thing that brings us quite a bit of fun? A deed that does no damage when it's done? Yes it's happy and I guess it's fun but there's a bit more so work to be done Before I move on I nearly forgot It does no damage, not a jot Can it be done in Winter, Fall, or Spring? Or do we need the weather to be hot, I'm not sure it was your intention But I do it in the season you didn't mention Yes when I Marisi it's usually hot But need not be, so FA not. Or dry, at least, as in the racing season? And if you did it, would I know the reason? Only flat racing is in the dry my boy, Have you not seen the mud on Tony McCoy. I if was Marising and you were near Then i guess the reason why would be pretty clear Do you get paid for doing it, or not? The kit involved: would this perhaps be spherical, Rectangular? Or thin? Or elongate? A fishing rod, or reel, or net, or bait? Or something techy, nerdy and numerical? Unfortunately one doesn't get paid and the kit is totally man made, It kinda rectangular or even square Not exactly so please beware You must be one hell of a slueth Or did I mention that I fished in my youth Having said that without a doubt, The kit is not for catching trout. Techy would best describe this thing The answer to which the next post will bring. Oh God, I'm such a lousy sonneteer. I think I'd better leave my questions here. Oh come now Howard you're too meek and mild you sure your name's not Oscar, Mr Wilde And Wordworm don't be taken aback But some of your q's were near the right track. When you do this mystery thing Are you making a new sumfing? Can you do it in your car, As you go both near and far? Is the kit a radio? Are you listening to a show? Is any sport involved in this? Tennis perhaps, with hit and miss? Have you got a new iPhone So that you can drone and drone? Are you taking lots of shots Photos that is, not pops and pots Are you watching out for birds Or other animals - watch out for turds! Are you collecting an item or two? Is the kit an album to put things into? |

When you do this mystery thing Are you making a new sumfing? Still the rhymes show no signs of abating, When you do this you are not creating. Can you do it in your car, As you go both near and far? You could do it in your car in relative peace but not if spotted by the police. Is the kit a radio? Are you listening to a show? this question leaves you on the rocks No FM Radios or shock jocks. Is any sport involved in this? Tennis perhaps, with hit and miss? To this line of thought you should call a halt You've just served up a double fault. Have you got a new iPhone So that you can drone and drone? Drone and drone! I'm most amused An iPhone is something that could be used Are you taking lots of shots Photos that is, not pops and pots An interesting thought but sadly a miss, I only take shots when I'm on the pi... Are you watching out for birds Or other animals - watch out for turds! No reptiles, bird, or elephants To this puzzle have any relevance Are you collecting an item or two? Is the kit an album to put things into? Another good thought my English petal the only albums I have are heavy metal |

At last someone guesses the prop So questions on that now can stop Yes the prop is without dispute That item we all use to compute. If you Marisi and someone is near then I pretty sure they'll be able to hear If they are far and I'm not being ironic Thy couldn't unless their ear was bionic |

Is one trying to make this "bing", Or is it part of a necessary thing To use a computer? Like "start-up sound", Or some other thing that can be found? If I understand you correctly there's no sound, Anywhere in the solution to be found. Is type of computer necessary, Can one Marisi on Mac or PC? And does Marisi-ing make one happy, And can it be done on a desktop or lappy? Any sort of computer will serve you well Apple, Hewlett and even dell. Marising is a happy thing and a sense of excitment it may bring. I have to say my answers look crappy Compared to your genius rhyming of lappy. |

So on this website, one reads and types. Does one also watch, as if on Skype? Is messaging relevant, maybe downloading too, Or is it a search engine, like Google or Yahoo!? So on this website, one reads and types. Does one also watch, as if on Skype? On the site you only read but to get there you must type Another point for you to heed It's got nothing to do with Skype Is messaging relevant, maybe downloading too, Or is it a search engine, like Google or Yahoo!? The search engine accounts for the typing bit, If you're lucky you'll get a useful hit. No messages or downloads involved As you'll see when this is solved Maybe it is a forum, or encyclopedia? (Of course, it's that I'm speaking of Wikipedia.) Are you searching for information Which brings you joy, pleasure, and elation? The site's not a forum nor is it wiki, If it were this would have been a quickie. I can say though without hesitation, The whole point is seeking information. Pleasure & Joy I'm sure you'll choose But only if the site bears good news And Balin when you used the word Skype, I was tempted to rhyme it with Michael Stipe. |

Sports & News are a pretty good guess But I get all that from the printed press The Lucky button I never click But I'm sure it would do the trick Are there images and videos next To the stuff that you read, which is called text? There are images to be seen And not much text in between And though this may seem quite absurd Image is not the ideal word Is the reading material article-type, Or is it propaganda, believing the hype? I must say in my own little dominion I prefer to rely on my own opinion. Or, perchance, you're finding a blog, One of many in cyberspace fog? How is the information useful to you? For work? For something you must do? Just for the sake of being well informed? Or to know if by money or rewards you'll be warmed? |

How is the information useful to you? For work? For something you must do? It's not for work more for leisure I would never describe my job as a pleasure Just for the sake of being well informed? Or to know if by money or rewards you'll be warmed? It informs me of something in a flash but doesn't concern itself with cash |

Will the info later be Used by you? For family? Or for something simpler, say, For meals, TV, or sport, okay? |

Do you read about celebs When you're on the interwebs? Do you read about movies? Do you read about duties? Do you read about some songs? Do you want to sing along? Do you read what you'd call news? Is this all a clever ruse? Do you read about folks you know? Do you read about places to go? Do you read about things to buy? Does that question make you sigh? Do you read it day or night? Do you read with all your might? Do you read about stories or books? Do people give you funny looks? Do you read about a hobby Till the pixels become blobby? Do you read so you can do something, or having read, are you through? |

I'll ask a question highly rated: is the info oft updated? Does it maybe forecast weather, tells you to wear shorts or leather? |

Apologies for ignoring these great suggestions I was posting when you asked your questions Do you read about celebs When you're on the interwebs? I think publicists act like a vulture and absolutely detest the celebrity culture Do you read about movies? Do you read about duties? Do you read about some songs? Do you want to sing along? Do you read what you'd call news? Is this all a clever ruse? Even though these lines of thought I love I must say no to all the above Do you read about folks you know? Do you read about places to go? Ok Ohala I'll grant your wish yes to places to go with a slight ish Do you read about things to buy? Does that question make you sigh? Do you read it day or night? Do you read with all your might? Do you read about stories or books? Do people give you funny looks? Do you read about a hobby Till the pixels become blobby? Do you read so you can do something, or having read, are you through? I know you are trying your best But I must say no to all the rest. Ok marising is partly looking up weather but there's more to it altogether. If this puzzle you want to win pay particular heed to my response to Lynne And while I do this willy nilly To some this behaviour may seem silly |

Are you checking the forecast for your destination, And pack only the things you will need on vacation? Do you frequently check as the forecast updates In the hope that you'll need not umbrella, but shades? If it's so, that's what I do for skydiving days Hoping forecast will only show sun's yellow rays. |

If it's so, that's what I do for skydiving days Hoping forecast will only show sun's yellow rays. While not exactly an according to hoyler it's enough for me to post the ...... *************Spoiler*************** Looking up the weather what's odd about that But you're puzzle host is a bit of a prat. So excited am I about my annual trip Into a frenzy myself I whip I check daily the climate of our location Months before our actual vacation My wife thinks this is pretty sad And that maybe I'm a little mad I say "today at 80 the temperature peaks" "Big Deal" she says "we don't leave for 9 weeks" To define the verb to Marisi here's your chance It's looking up weather way too far in advance. Marisi comes from Aimsir the Irish for weather With the letters all jumbled together I Hope this solution is not too mundane And that the puzzle didn't drive you insane. And though the solution is somewhat boring Your rhyming guesses had me roaring. My only wish is that all of you Got some enjoyment from it too. And so I leave in 2 days time For a fortnight of cheese and glasses of wine |
