Is "the sand" in a contained area, as in a sandbox? Or is it moreso an expanse of sand, like a seashore or a portion of a desert? Is the sand on the ground? Or is it somehow at an elevation? Is the man lying on level ground? On a slope? Is the body found lying at the same place at which the man's death occurred? Or does it appear that he was trampled elsewhere, then "dumped" at this sandy place? |

I knew it! Two men were playing horseshoes, and an argument ensued (possibly about which was closest to the pole). The argument ended when one of the men struck the other with a horseshoe, killing him. This took place in the sandy area where the poles are located, so to an observer it would appear that the deceased was trampled by horses based on horseshoe marks left in the sand - how's that? |

This took place in the sandy area where the poles are located, so to an observer it would appear that the deceased was trampled by horses based on horseshoe marks left in the sand - how's that? That is perfect, and therefore a **********SPOILER********** All I need to add is that the killer removed the horseshoes and stakes from the playing area before fleeing the scene, and that the multiple horseshoe blows would reinforce the apparent image of a death by trampling. Excellent job, everyone, especially Galfisk for a majority of the groundwork, and Ixoye for the solve. |
