Ok, I'm breaking my own rule about not running more than one puzzle at a time, but I know we can have up to 3 on here, so... "Sno-Cones!" |

Is the scrund about sno-cones? The spelling of "sno-cones"? Is it about news? Dessert? Snow? Cones? Ice? Flavored syrup? Any other food? Perhaps some type of drink? |

Is the scrund about sno-cones? Well, this was the precise wording used which showed the scrund. I suppose I could have called it a mondegreen, too. The spelling of "sno-cones"? No, that's just how I saw it spelled. Is it about news? Yesish. No to rest. Dessert? Snow? Cones? Ice? Flavored syrup? Any other food? Perhaps some type of drink? |

Did you think sno-cones: were something else? Were spelled differently? Pronounced differently? Or did you think something else was a sno-cone? Did you think all cone-shaped ice cream was called sno-cones? Other cone-shaped objects relevant? Such as traffic cones? |

Did you think sno-cones: were something else? Were spelled differently? Pronounced differently? Or did you think something else was a sno-cone? Did you think all cone-shaped ice cream was called sno-cones? All FA...The scrund/mondegreen was not mine. I saw someone else have it and thought it was amusing. But as applied to someone else, the person thought someone said "sno-cone" when in fact they did not. Other cone-shaped objects relevant? No. Such as traffic cones? Not in the least. |

Did someone say "There's no cones"? They did not, in fact, say anything to do with cones. |

Did they say "snow"? Something to do with snow? They did not say anything to do with snow. It might help to ask more questions about the 'they', to get a better handle on what 'they' actually DID say. The title, by the way, is relevantish. |

They: H? A? M? All H and M, though they range from H/C/M to H/A/M-ish. Number of people - 2? 3? 4? 5? More? I lost count, but definitely more. |

Were they selling something? Playing something? Are they a team? A group? An organization? |

Were they selling something? Initially, yes. Playing something? You could say this, but it might mislead. Are they a team? Not the right word. A group? Certainly this. An organization? They certainly worked for one or two. HINT: There's really two "theys" involved. They1 is a group which actually did something historically important, and They2 is involved in an adaptation of the historical event. All questions being answered pertain to They2 as they portrayed what They1 did...although They2 were the ones who were interpreted as saying "Sno-cone", which they did not really say (and I doubt They1 ever said anything like it at all) |

Is a battle reenactment involved? Only for svv of "battle" and "reenactment". (It was a film based on a real event, but not what I'd call a battle. Still, there was fighting of a sort.) |

Was the movie animated? No. By the way, I've never seen the whole thing, just clips on YouTube, which is where I saw the sno-cones comment. Action? Maybe. Adventure? I think so. Drama? This might be involved. Romance? Not in the relevant bit. Comedy? I don't think so. Horror? Not this Thriller? Not this either Mystery? Or this. It was a musical film based on a historical event. |

All right, technically ISH has solved this one, and seems disinclined to share the story behind 'Newsies' if it's known to him, so I'll go ahead and $poyle this one, too. Here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABo2MlYdsdU&feature=related is the link to the relevant YouTube video: the song is "Seize the Day", and the relevant line, spoken after the song is technically over, is "SOAK 'EM!!" which someone viewing the video interpreted as "SNO-CONES!!" on page thirty-four. Newsies can be found here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Newsies and the story behind the movie, here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Newsboys_Strike_of_1899 "The Newsboys Strike of 1899 was a youth-led campaign to force change in the way that Joseph Pulitzer's and William Randolph Hearst's newspapers compensated their child labor force. The strike lasted two weeks, causing Pulitzer's New York World to reduce its circulation from 360,000 to 125,000. The strike was successful in increasing the amount of money that newsboys received for their work..." And so that is the ***SPOILER***. Thanks, everyone! |
