As my LatVenture's going to take a while to get through, I decided to run another puzzle. So here we go: She was certain the monster was stalking her. |

She - H? A? M? She = her? Is "she" your Tortiesibling? Monster - a well-known monster? From a fairy tale? Story? Film? Horror film? |

She - H? A? M? She = HAF, though was HCF at the time. She = her? Yes. Is "she" your Tortiesibling? She is...I hope she doesn't kill me =P Monster - a well-known monster? DOYD...I think you'd have had to have seen or heard of the film to know about it, probably. From a fairy tale? Story? It may have been a book first, am not sure. Film? Certainly this. Horror film? I doubt this was the intended genre, but the part with the monster-thing certainly terrified us. |

Did she think so because she seemed to see or hear about the monster in all kinds of ads and commercials and stuff? Is Halloween relevant? |

Intended genre of the film - action? Animated? Children's? Romance? Comedy? Drama? Mystery? Thriller? Teen? Is the film from [LTPF list of decades]? |

So she was afraid of the monster after watching a movie? Was she afraid of going to bed afterwards? Did she think the monster was under her bed? In her wardrobe? Did she seem to see the monster's shape in all kinds of random things? In her room? |

I *think* the 1980's...although late 70's, which would make it older than us, or early 90's is still possible. Oh, this is what Wiki is for...lol...*looks* 1989. |

Tolkien relevant? I know there's some older animated LOTR/The Hobbit films - these relevant? Nope, not these. Even I wasn't interested in Tolkien at four years old (although it was probably later than 1989 that we saw the movie, not when it first came out) |

Is it a Disney movie? It is not, although musicians famed for working with Disney worked on it. And oh...it seems there were two release dates. 1989 outside the US, and 1992 inside. All righty then, maybe we did see it when it first came out...Tortiesibling being four makes more sense than me being four when it did. |

So I take it it's a movie that's not from the US. Is that correct? Did she think she saw the monster right after watching the movie? On the same day? Some time later? In your house? Outdoors? In some public place? Somebody else's home? Is merchandising relevant? Somebody or something bearing a resemblance to the monster? Or did somebody or something sound like it? Did she have an earworm of whatever music was played in the movie? |

So I take it it's a movie that's not from the US. Is that correct? The movie was made in Japan and the US, but was released first in Japan. However, it's based on a story which first came out in America in a completely different medium. Did she think she saw the monster right after watching the movie? On the same day? Some time later? Probably all three In your house? Yes Outdoors? In some public place? Somebody else's home? This may be possible, but irrelevant Is merchandising relevant? Somebody or somethingSomething, yes bearing a resemblance to the monster? Or did somebody or something sound like it? Did she have an earworm of whatever music was played in the movie? No to rest |

Sadly, I got this from the title "Eye in the Dark" and the fact that it was about me. Lizzie (sorry, I mean Kaylee) gave me permission to answer questions as well, considering it is about me and I know the answer. My answers will be bold and blue. Horror film? I doubt this was the intended genre, but the part with the monster-thing certainly terrified us. Keep in mind I was probably between 3 and 6 years old, although I was 3 when it was released in the USA (I looked up the exact release date) Was she afraid of going to bed afterwards? I don't believe I was was afraid of sleeping or going to bed, I was afraid of doing something else though Was the entire movie animated? yup, 99.9% sure it was |

Animated movie...1989...Japanese...Yes, but you might want to focus more on the fact that it had an American origin, and was released in America three years later. Kiki's Delivery Service? Though I couldn't find a monster anywhere in that...at least, not after looking through summaries. Not this...although I've wanted to see that. |

Was the monster created just for this movie? Or had it been in existence before then? it may have been created for the medium that this story existed in prior to being a movie, but it existed only for this story, at least (so it's not a famous monster like the Loch Ness monster or anything, nor does it resemble the Loch Ness monster.) |

Right after seeing the movie? The night after? And for many nights after that. It was a permanent fixture in our house...and in many, I'd wager. On the ceiling above her? Well, above her. Either the ceiling or the wall, but she was little! So it looked like it was watching her? It did. In several rooms? Maybe even in every single room she was in? (It was stalking her after all ;-) ) It wasn't...that was my miswording. Tortiesibling has since corrected me. It was in the hall. But it was 'watching' her every time she went to do some particular thing, at some particular time. |

Was it something that she did several times a day? Only once a day? Did she have the feeling only when it was dark and the light really stood out? Or also when the hall was illuminated in some way? Did it watch her everytime she left her room? Everytime she entered the hall, regardless of where she had been before? After getting up? Before going to bed? On her way to the bathroom? On the way back? Whenever a door facing the hall was open? Is sneaking into some other room relevant? When she ought to be sleeping? |

according to Tortiesibling, it does not have to be so specific. ***SPOILER*** While the smoke detector was not actually 'stalking' my Tortiesibling (so mea culpa on that), she was terrified of it as a small child after seeing Little Nemo in Slumberland...the red light on the detector resembled a red, glowing eye such as the monster from the movie possessed. Any time she had to pass it in the hallway, at the top of the stairs at night (for whatever reason) it would frighten her...so she preferred not to leave her room in the dark. |

And oddly enough, I knew very well that it was just the smoke detector light, but it still creeped me out to see it because I always pictured that stupid monster from Little Nemo... |
