This is not my LatVenture, part two
That's is still in the works, not yet through
It's a Connections Puzzle,
Not an Idiomuzzle,
And so these connections, guess who?

(Where, What, When, How, Why
Might equally apply
but they didn't rhyme
and I didn't have time.)

What links, first, riddle me this:
A creature you'd not want to kiss,
(Well, unless you were mad,
Which would be very bad
Anyway, it's likely you'd miss)

Secondly, a majestic beast
On you, it'd be willing to feast
It's found often in threes
(Or ones and twos, if it please-
s you, but that's ancient, at least)

Thirdly, a strange sort of equine
It's more of a chimera, I'd opine
At least the way it's said to look
By most ancient books,
And on bread and plum cake it'll dine.

Fourth, it's rather hard to say
I'm afraid if I try, I'll give it away
Suffice to say beast it's got none,
But it's got plenty good fun,
And it tames the rest when it's at play.

Does the third have a horn?
Is it perhaps a unicorn?
Or perchance it might have wings?
A pegasus, or similar thing?

The third's a unicorn, it's so
A single horn from its head grows
I doubt it has wings,
Though one of the other things
Is winged, I'll allow you to know.

Your first link does remind me more
Of Harry Potter, Book no. 4.
The riddle in the maze, it was...
And "spider" was the answer. Does
this answer match with your first link?
Or something else must of I think?

Your thoughts take you in the right vein
For in Goblet of Fire, that train
Of thought should direct you,
Though spider's a "no", too,
What other creatures in that book were first named?

For the second, it seems the beast
might be a dragon enjoying the feast

There is a dragon, it's true...but it's not beast number two. :-D

Is the first beast maybe the dragon?
There's one in the Goblet of Fire, I reckon.

The first's a dragon indeed
And it's of a particular breed
(Though the colour, JKR
Got wrong by far
It's opposite the one you will need.)

Let me check my HP books
for that special dragon's looks.
Is it the one Harry has to fight?
The Hungarian Horntail who's not so bright?

The only colored dragon I
Can think of is the Chinese Green.
So opposite, I would surmise,
Is the red on wheel seen?
And a red dragon in the fog -
Should we focus now on Smaug?

The Hungarian Horntail who's not so bright?

The dragon's one of those four,
But not the Horntail, to settle the score
I suggest you now look
At the three left in the book
And see what colours they are.

One of them, as you will see,
Is the wrong colour for its (semi)country.

One of the dragons that can be seen
is definitely a Welsh Green.
Is it him who should be red?
Or is this guess quite bad?

And I was off upon the nationality
Of the green dragon (that's in actuality.)
And you did miss my post, unless we crossed,
So can you make sure it does not get lost?

You iz a clevur kitteh,
For you know, as you did see
The Common Welsh Green
In Wales, red is seen
So JKR did not research, clearly.

The first beast, dragon of Wales,
The second's not got any scales
Unicorn's third, we said
And likes plum cake and bread
Fourth's not a beast...where could they be?

The Welsh dragon is red indeed
(As is Chinese Fireball, but that's OTWT)
The red dragon in fog
Is not Smaug,
Continue thinking of Wales, you will see.

Two is a beast you'll still see,
Quite wild and savage when free
Four is not a beast,
No, not in the least
But both were 'round, too, in antiquity.

Imporant is Wales's geography?
And what on the map we see?
Is it somehow relevant
that it's west of England?
And what about dear Charles, the prince?
Could we maybe have some hints?

Wales is important for geography,
As is a map, most definitely,
England is relevant, quite
Prince Charles, OTRT-ness is in sight.
LTPF-ers geography-wise,
What unicorn eats plum cake for a prize?

Alice - not really, no
Although there's "ish" in there, so
Where else can this Unicorn
with its noble companion
Be found wand'ring around, don't you know?

(Wikipedia and Google are friends
And may swiftly bring this puzzle to end...)

looks like you win, Doriana kitteh
They are on the coat of arms of the UK
But though on the shield you find lions,
Ireland's harp, there's no dragon,
Scotland's unicorn's a supporter, you see :-)

The dragon's absence is notable
Wales' attachment to England? Probable...
There's four quarters, so what
Is Wales' dragon, if not
Present on the coat of arms royal?

It seems that the lion rampant, in Scotland
Is an extra lion, I'd not thought ere I posted
So the lions times three,
Though England's, you see
Are really times six, as Wales' dragon's aborted.

With that, the puzzle's now in the boiler,
And I've now posted the ***SPOILER***.
