Many people can ychythw (pronounced "icky-thoo"), but I only know of one person (a HAM) who is well-known for it. I have ychythwed a few times, but only once in front of people. What does it mean to ychythw? |

is it something anyone can do or does it take a lot of practice? do you need to be taught how to do it? can you get books on how to do it? do you need any special equipment to do it? is it something that people pay to watch? is it more important to hear it? would we want to see/hear you do it? can you do it on your own? do you need a partner or group of people? |

In an attempt to help this along, I will say that the title is, as is most often, relevant. And that all forms of Internet usage, including Googlepedia but especially YouTube, are perfectly legal. I shall also RECAP that the person most well-known for ychythwing (which, BTW, I have now done thrice in front people) is a British comedian ("comic actor" might be better, but either term could work) born in the '70s who is mainly known for doing this type of dance. |

do you act out the lyrics? Yes, and I think I can call it here. sign language relevant? **********SPOILER********** To ychythw is to act out a song in humorous interpretive dance, a la David Armand. I've done this a few times, once at an open-mic night. It's fun. The title is the opening lyrics to the song "Love is All Around," one of the songs Mr. Armand has ychythwed to. And the word itself is an acronym of "you can't hear, you think he's weird," which I believe to be an accurate description of someone witnessing a person doing this. Excellent work everyone, especially Shez for persevering through this one. |
