I've got a new puzzle ('bout time!) So I'm posing this riddle sublime: You must tell me (my quiz) What a defilo is, And ask me your questions in rhyme. |

Is a defilo a human or plant? Something I can touch? Something I can't? Is it an object? If so, what size? House, car, chair, hand, grain of rice? Is it an emotion? a sensation? Relevant is communication? Is the title of relevance? Or is it rhetoric elegance? I know it's Latin, I guess it says The poet's mind thinks in usual ways? |

Relevant is communication? A defilo's a noun that none can touch Or taste, or lick, or feel, or tell it much. But you can see it in a certain place; It also can be told right to your face. It neither is emotion nor sensation, And it does not involve communication. Is the title of relevance? Or is it rhetoric elegance? I know it's Latin, I guess it says The poet's mind thinks in usual ways? It's only used here as elegant quirk; In unusual ways poets' minds do work. |

unusual is what I meant, I'm sure bout this 100 % (; I find it in a certain place - indoors? outdoors? outer space? Can I eat a defilo? Or would that be a total no? |

If seeing it, you'd likely be Indoors; if heard it could be either. But whether it you hear or see, In outer space it would be neither! And no, defilos are not edible; For try'n' to eat one'd' be incredible! (Impossible, but who's to say? You can't eat a defilo, 'kay?) |

I asked a question bout the size and by now I've asked it twice. Because when I did it first I got no answer which is worst ): Is the room where I can see a defolo the same usually? In private houses it is found? And does it often make a sound? |

In private houses it is found? And does it often make a sound? It all depends on just one item Which you need in ord'r to sight 'em. That item, yes, is in the house. (I need a rhyme...um, something mouse.) A defilo don't make a sound Although there're plenty of'm around. Oh wait - a defilo has size, When you can see it with your eyes. But not as in "it's bigger than..." That line of thought won't help you, man! (Yes, I know you're female; rhymes are tough. Though really now, I just can't get enough.) |

Is a delfio long? Or tall? Or is is short, yea tiny, small? Is it a phenomenon? Do you need the heat turned on? Can it be seen in any house? Even one built for a mouse? Can it be touched? Can it be felt? Can it be tasted? Heard? Or smelt? Is it manmade? Is it planned? Did it exist before the dawn of man? |

Is a defilo a part of a thing? Like a xylophone bar or a diamond on a ring? Or is it the whole thing itself? And could you place it on a shelf? When you see a defilo is it right in front Of you or in the sky (random rhyming punt)? Or is it intangible like a lie? Or a truth or the scent of a sweet cherry pie? When did the first defilo exist? Was it in [LTPF List of Centuries] or should I ask Galfisk? And are defilos only found in certain parts? Of Earth, or in every place, don't make me start. Can a blind man see a defilo or not? What about someone who's smoked too much pot? Can defilos be seen by all with sight? Or only by those who have some sort of might? By might I mean skill but that doesn't rhyme. Which reminds me whether defilos involve time. Will everyone see a defilo at least once? Or many times or never like a dunce? Would a defilo be good? What about bad? What would you say if I asked my dad? |

Sir Balin, I’m quite cross with you. This rhyming is trying, it’s true. I’ll pardon pretension. You have my attention. This puzzle I mean to subdue. Difilos are common? Or rare? Found everywhere? Up in the air? Have I ever seen one? How about Cup of Sun? Can’t been seen outside? Are they there? Are defilos found in a bunch? Or alone, as I have a hunch? An object is needed, So they can be heeded, So perhaps they're data to crunch? Defilos you said can be heard, Do they make a sound like a bird? Can I hear them direct, Or just their effect, Distinctly or is the sound slurred? |

Is a defilo long? Or tall? Or is is short, yea tiny, small? It’s not big; it’s not tall; It is short; that is all. Is it a phenomenon? Do you need the heat turned on? Can it be seen in any house? Even one built for a mouse? In many homes they can be viewed If you’ve a certain prop (NOT rude!) Can it be touched? Can it be felt? Can it be tasted? Heard? Or smelt? Is it manmade? Is it planned? Did it exist before the dawn of man? If they’re recited, they are heard, But commonly they’re seen most often. They’re planned by man and pass the test, And now I’m saying “No to rest.” Is a defilo a part of a thing? Like a xylophone bar or a diamond on a ring? Or is it the whole thing itself? And could you place it on a shelf? Though none can place it on a shelf A defilo is whole itself. When you see a defilo is it right in front Of you or in the sky (random rhyming punt)? Or is it intangible like a lie? Or a truth or the scent of a sweet cherry pie? It’s seen, well, right in front of you. It’s tangible? Umm…”Yope.” (Oh, phoo.) I’m not sure if I’d call it that Or if I wouldn’t…come on, Matt… So I’ll say “Yope” Though I’m a dope. When did the first defilo exist? Was it in [LTPF List of Centuries] or should I ask Galfisk? The first recorded defilo Was in the Twenty-Aughts, you know. And are defilos only found in certain parts? Of Earth, or in every place, don't make me start. Everywhere. Is that fair? Can a blind man see a defilo or not? What about someone who's smoked too much pot? Can defilos be seen by all with sight? Or only by those who have some sort of might? Everyone with sight can see A defilo, including me. By might I mean skill but that doesn't rhyme. Which reminds me whether defilos involve time. They do not. That’s a rot. Will everyone see a defilo at least once? Or many times or never like a dunce? Not everyone will see a defilo, Though I have seen them many times, I know. Would a defilo be good? What about bad? What would you say if I asked my dad? I’d say they’re good, but in technicality A defilo contains neutrality. Sir Balin, I’m quite cross with you. This rhyming is trying, it’s true. I’ll pardon pretension. You have my attention. This puzzle I mean to subdue. It’s a HINT, then, that now you require? Doriana, this problem’s not dire. If you want one, just ask; It’s no difficult task! (Though you could, I’m supposing, perspire.) Defilos are common? Or rare? Found everywhere? Up in the air? Have I ever seen one? How about Cup of Sun? Can’t been seen outside? Are they there? They can be seen outside if you’ve got A prop, but it’s usually not Seen outside of the walls Of a home/building/halls. If it is, though, there’s some you could spot. They’re “ish-common” - I think that is so. Have you or CoS seen one? Don’t know. But when this is done, You (and possibly “sun”) Will have seen one – I know this fo’ sho’. Are defilos found in a bunch? Or alone, as I have a hunch? An object is needed, So they can be heeded, So perhaps they're data to crunch? They’re not data, but yes, they’re collected In one “area,” where they’re inspected. If that prop you’ve about You should go check ‘em out! You’ll enjoy them, as they’ve been perfected. Defilos you said can be heard, Do they make a sound like a bird? Can I hear them direct, Or just their effect, Distinctly or is the sound slurred? They are heard only when they’re recited By a person who, likely delighted, Would say them to you While enjoying them too! (Is that helpful? If so, I’m excited!) |

Are defilos a kind of word? That can be seen and also heard? Does music play a role in here? Can a defilo disappear? A kind of word is No, but wait; Words do make up these things so great. And music's no, not even Spanish; For nor can defilos go vanish. You said I need a certain prop. Can I buy this in a shop? Does it contain the defilo? Like, books and words, you know? As I recall It's "No to all." Except for "word," As you have heard. |

A poem or some kind of verse? Some rhymed lines or maybe a curse? You said words comprise them, Like jewels contain rare gems, (Does this help or just make it worse?) They're newish, your answers have shown, Though the thing itself is unknown. They require some tech? Or they hail from Quebec? Anything to do with smartphones? |

The origin of the word is inspiring So I will start here enquiring Does "defilo" refer to the files? Or soldiers proudly walking few miles? You were also so kind to tell That indoors defilos do dwell So if I was for me one to acquire, in which room to store it - to know it's my desire Office? Bedroom? Bathroom? Cellar? Or should I ask the "defilo" seller? |

A poem or some kind of verse? Some rhymed lines or maybe a curse? You said words comprise them, Like jewels contain rare gems, (Does this help or just make it worse?) It's a type of a poem indeed! And it's one that's not tiring to read. So just look for the rhyme And you'll have it in time; I'm not sure if to say more I need. They're newish, your answers have shown, Though the thing itself is unknown. They require some tech? Or they hail from Quebec? Anything to do with smartphones? Higgledy piggledy, Needed for defilos: Type of advancement in Tech, but it ain't Smartphones; that's too advanced Microtechnology. Something much simpler, but Nothing too quaint. I'll have you know I'm not quitter, A new thought I have, a'glitter. It's not big and not tall, Say 140 in all? Is it a posting on Twitter? It's not, but good guess. It is a type of verse that Is not very long. The origin of the word is inspiring So I will start here enquiring Does "defilo" refer to the files? Or soldiers proudly walking few miles? It's No to both; however, you are right In saying the word's origin's a light. You were also so kind to tell That indoors defilos do dwell So if I was for me one to acquire, in which room to store it - to know it's my desire Office? Bedroom? Bathroom? Cellar? Or should I ask the "defilo" seller? You can't sell one or buy one that's yours, But you'd most likely be there (indoors) When taking a look At a defilo. Hook On this HINT: what's the tech? Ask me mores! |

Is a defilo when there is the end Of a versponse I need a rhyme... Bend Which happens when someone says "over the boiler" Then says you have reached the word that rhymes with "toiler"? Is the LTPF relevant at all? Am I, or Kaylee, or y'all? Would I see a defilo on my PC If you were my Mac , could I see it on thee? I wonder why I would own a Mac. Perhaps if I'd been smoking crack. |

Could the tech be a printing press? But they are something new, you confess. Are they sent through the mail? Can they be read in Braille? It feels like we're making progress. Do they rhyme like questions we ask? Finding number of lines our task? A haiku? A sonnet? More lines writ upon it? I might need to refill my flask. |

Higgledy piggledy, Humorous poetry: YES it is relevant! Excellent shot! But, on the other hand, Hexasyllabically Scrawled double dactyls are, Sad to say, not. To clarify for anyone who doesn't speak kitteh and/or is disturbed by my obsession, the question was, "Is a defilo a weightless poem or something similar"? It is a type of poem that is most often humorous/weightless, but also can be serious. Could the tech be a printing press? But they are something new, you confess. Are they sent through the mail? Can they be read in Braille? It feels like we're making progress. Progress, yes, but I say no to rest. So I think that it sure would be best If at end of line four I stopped writing more. Do they rhyme like questions we ask? Finding number of lines our task? A haiku? A sonnet? More lines writ upon it? I might need to refill my flask. Yes, a defilo rhymes; it's a verse. And let me say this, being terse: On this puzzle, the type Of poem you'll snipe Has been written, for better, not worse. One type of a poem is key To solving this puzzle, you see. And it's neither of those; But the lines that it goes Are always 'twixt fourteen and three. |

Does a defilo limerick contain certain words Or not have them or talk about birds Or must it not rhyme because in good time You'll know the poem's a bunch of [non-sequitur regarding feces] Or does a defilo follow a theme Like violence or animals or memes Or it self-referential Or very confidential Like CIA's Assassin Team? Or would a defilo just be A limerick that is about me? That is if I wrote it Because if your goat did Then it would be about him, not thee? Does a defilo limerick contain certain words Or not have them or talk about birds Or must it not rhyme because in good time You'll know the poem's a bunch of [non-sequitur regarding feces] Well, words are relevant to defilos, But all the rest are just a bunch of "Nos." Or does a defilo follow a theme Like violence or animals or memes Or it self-referential Or very confidential Like CIA's Assassin Team? Yope to "theme," No to Team. Or would a defilo just be A limerick that is about me? That is if I wrote it Because if your goat did Then it would be about him, not thee? This is closer than previous guesses, There's a topic the limerick addresses. But it's not self-about And I hope you don't pout When I tell you that's all of the "Yesses." And why don't you post on my puzzle About the Media Stupidity Series with no Muzzle You've wrote on my others And I have no brothers So why don't you post on that, fo shuzzle? Does the topic related to plants? Or animals, for instance ants? Or people or life? Or marrrying your wife? Or does it concern art, maybe dance? Or perhaps [LTPF List of Countries] does matter? [LTPF List of Centuries] if so use [LTPF List of Decades] as the latter? Would it work in [LTPF List of Towns]? What about with [LTPF List of Clowns]? What about with [LTPF List of Foods] that make you fatter and fatter? Have any of the limericks so far in this puzzle been defilos? Either written by us, you, or some random potatoes? And if so then which ones? I'll use the LTPF list if needed, how fun? And hopefully all of the above aren't nos? |

They first appeared in the Twenty-Aughts, Because needed tech before was not? Or was it their subject Did not exist just yet? Before then no sample could we spot? Defilos depend on computers? Or reference some corporate polluters? Do they use someone’s name? Or use some claim to fame? Do they reference a Vespa scooter? Yes, a compy is needed, but then, You, of course, could write one with a pen. But they're stored on the Net On a website. All set? Cause I know you won't ask this again. Certain defilos talk of a name, Or of something that's risen to fame. But the archive began In '04, when a man Had a plan which has worked all the same. Would a lim about Balin kitteh Be a defilo? You see I'm wondering here It's really not clear Or would it be about me? Either would be a Defilo, but they're not all About people. Clear? |

In most of the cases, these limericks are humorous, But the rest are all No, though their main purpose is Something which all of the defilos numerous Are made for. What is it? Well, that is your quiz. |

Are they made for the internet? Is it relevant Al Gore's claim he invented it? Which isn't really true Although some claim it is [who?] That was meant to mock Wikipedia's superscript for unclear use of "some", get it? My Media Stupidity series is lonely Won't someone post on it, homies? |

Which isn't really true Although some claim it is [who?] That was meant to mock Wikipedia's superscript for unclear use of "some", get it? They are writ to be posted online, But they have a clear purpose that's fine. I won't say any more Except only: Al Gore Is irrelevant. End of fifth line. My Media Stupidity series is lonely Won't someone post on it, homies? It's hard when I'm stuck And feel out of luck. |

It is time for a RECAP So this puzzle won't be crap: A defilo's a limerick, But what's it do? Now that's the trick! A limerick about a person Would be a defilo (no cursin') But just a certain type of one. Now what's the rest? Well, that's the fun! And defilos are all online; A website archives poems fine. |

Are they all made about the same guy? Or a group, or a class, such as spy? Is a punch line important? Are all equally short, and Do they all make you laugh? Maybe cry? Is the Nantucket man here involved? Do they war or politics revolve? Maybe current events? Or some famous dead gents? Could I make one, had I the resolve? |

Are they all made about the same guy? Or a group, or a class, such as spy? Is a punch line important? Are all equally short, and Do they all make you laugh? Maybe cry? They are not all about the same thing, Though they do have a similar ring. Some are funny, some sad, Many good, few are bad; And a "Sometimes" for punch line. Ka-ching! Is the Nantucket man here involved? Do they war or politics revolve? Maybe current events? Or some famous dead gents? Could I make one, had I the resolve? Your first line is clearly a No, For the rest, they all could be, fo' sho'. And just to be clear, I'll stop this verse here. |

Is the language important? The rhymes? Or the meter? The wording? The Times? Are they dirty? Or clean? Are they nice? Are they mean? Are they crude, just okay, or sublime? What a defilo does is the key, So the rest do not matter to me. All the things in that verse; True of some - good or worse. What is does is important - you'll see. |

I'm saying "No to all" - each stands alone, All by itself, an island, on its own. There are exceptions - some can point to others, But those are not the norm - um, something druthers? |

Or places? Or things? A particular theme? Such as weddings and rings? Every defilo varies in many accords, Such as themes, dirty language, and number of wOrds. Since they differ so much, all of these can be done. (Even winning, in one case - a contest so fun!) But in all of these differences, one thing holds still; They all have the same exact purpose and will. |

If I write a belowo and post it, Is its purpose fulfilled by then? Does it have to be read? If I lost it could I write it and post it again? Does the site only handle belowos, or does it have additional aims? Is its purpose in life just to show us the belowos? Or is it a game? |

Is the purpose to challenge the writer? To train in the limerick art? Can all limericks be defilos, Or can only a small, certain part? Do defilos require a word, or a theme? Or must they be made in conditions extreme? Such as very short time, or while skydiving, say? If I made lots of them, could I brag? Receive pay? |

So I'll answer with "Yeses" and "Nos" for this time. Is the purpose to challenge the writer? Noish To train in the limerick art? No Can all limericks be defilos, No Or can only a small, certain part? Yes Do defilos require a word, YES or a theme? Yope, see prev Or must they be made in conditions extreme? No Such as very short time, No or while skydiving, say? No If I made lots of them, could I brag? I suppose so Receive pay? No |

Do they need the word in the rhyme? Or could it be put anywhere? Does it need to be in the first line? And can it be changed here or there? Do they need to find rhymes for orange? Is the word a noun or a verb? Does orange rhyme with monkey wrench? Is the word an adjective, I heard? In all the defilos, is it the same word Or has it been changed now and then? Ar defilos much harder than regular lim'ricks? Or perhaps a bit easier than them? |

Ar defilos much harder than regular lim'ricks? Or perhaps a bit easier than them? The "word" in a defilo's never the same, But the focus is on it, that's part of the game. And a defilo isn't much harder to write (IMO) than a regular limerick. I might Be quite wrong about that, but that's just what I think. Oh, and some of these defilos (none of which stink) Don't contain the key "word," but their focus is still On the "word" which is relevant. Ask as you will! |

I have a headache so forgive the non-rhymes. Also, that's probably the first time a headache has ever been used as an excuse for THAT. Here, you're probably right... Does a defilo define the subject of its verse? ...here, you're exactly right. **********SPOILER********** Now a defilo - haven't you heard? - Is a concept that's fun, not absurd. Ingenuity numerous Plus poetry humorous: It's a limerick defining a word. Go and see the OEDILF, where they store All the defilos - thousands, and more! From the serious rhymes To some funnier times, I am sure that it won't be a bore. Nice work, then, for yes, I can tell That your lateral minds work quite swell.
