It was a huge disaster for many. Then it became a disaster for Clark. Hello LP addicts. I kindly invite you to check my new blog: www.lateralminds.blogspot.com - It features some of my puzzles and most of all a brand new game, based on lateral puzzles, that I invented and it is free to try for everybody. Have fun! |

Yes, H/A/M does indeed stand for human adult male. Was it an earthquake? avalanche? landslide? flood? storm? tsunami? Did people die? Did it become a disaster for Clark hours later? days? weeks? months? years? |

Did the tsunami destroy a place that was important to him? A place where he spent (much of) his childhood? A place where he made fond memories? Was the grave of a friend or family member located there? Is Clark a meteorologist? Or in some way responsible for the safety of people in case of a tsunami? And he feels guilty because he couldn't save all those who were affected by the tsunami? Or does he blame himself for the deaths of the persons because he had made some mistake? |

Okay, just to make sure I'm understanding what we know so far... There was a disaster, a tsunami? Though it doesn't have to be a tsunami, yes? Could it be ANY disaster (natural or otherwise)? Or juts any disaster that is without much warning? (As opposed to a hurricane) No one close to Clark dies? Does Clark die? And the disaster casuses his marriage to end? Or just sours his relationship with his wife? Relevant who ended it? Him? Her? Did he find out about something because of the disaster? Like where she was rescued from was not where he thought she was? And she was there with someone else? Or something similar? |

There was a disaster, a tsunami? yes Though it doesn't have to be a tsunami, yes? yes Could it be ANY disaster (natural or otherwise)? yes Or juts any disaster that is without much warning? yes, let's say this - a sudden calamity, tsunami is perfect (As opposed to a hurricane) No one close to Clark dies? no one close to Clark dies Does Clark die? no And the disaster casuses his marriage to end? yes, in a lateral way, of course Or just sours his relationship with his wife? yes, this to start, they most probably will end breaking up for good Relevant who ended it? yes, she did Him? Her? Did he find out about something because of the disaster? no Like where she was rescued from was not where he thought she was? no And she was there with someone else? no Or something similar? no |

Was Clark supposed to be at work? Did his wife think he was at work? Was his place of work destroyed or damaged? But Clark was unhurt, because he was not there? And when he arrived home, he was not aware of what had happened? (I think I heard a varient of this idea post 9/11...) |

Does it matter if Clark was involved with a man or a woman? Was Clark's lover at his work as well? Were they a coworker? Were they endangered by the diaster? Did Clark's wife find out about the affair because of: Something Clark did? Something Clark did not do? Something Clark said? Meeting Clark's lover? Did she see Clark doing something on televised coverage of the event? Was Clark injured or hurt in the disaster? Was he taken to a hospital? |

Did he send a message intended for his girlfriend that instead reached his wife? Like putting the wrong recipient address in an email message? Is it important that it was a natural disaster of such large scale or only that it was a sudden, noteworthy event? Would a crash of a plane work as well? |

Did he use a term of endearment in his message? Write "I love you"? not exactly (nothing strange in writing that to the wife, right?) did he write to tell her he was OK? no make sure that she (the lover) was OK? no did he use her name in the message? if you mean he used the lover's name in the message to the wife: the answer is "no", but this is very close anyway |

Trying to nail this : Was there a message like "My darling Sarah, a terrible announcement just came into my attention... a tsunami struck the island XYZ!" ... and his wife, receiving the message, thought: Who on earth is Sarah??? Are their names (the wife's and the girlfriend's) close in spelling? Double letters involved? Was one called Mary and the other Maria, or at least is this OTRT? Do we need to find out how he managed to send the message in the wrong direction? Are their names relevant anyway? Or maybe the software he was using? Did he use the correct username but a different channel (like using XYZ which is correct for my wife on yahoo but also correct for my girlfriend on skype)? |

I think Rbruma (and Shez as well) pretty much got it all. so Spoiler time. Clark is at work. It's launch break and he's sitting at his desk reading the online news and chatting with his wife and his lover. A Tsunami hits the coast of XYX island and kills many. He's so taken away by the awful news that he forgets about the chat. He sees the blinking icon of the messenger reminding him of the awaiting message. He writes something on the line: "Sarah love, something horrible just happened!" Unfortunately, he writes this in the wrong window and his wife quickly puts two and two together. T |
