There is a scrund that seems to be fairly common in all races, but in blacks it is more apt to be an active scrund (a belief you're aware of having) & in other races it's more apt to be a passive scrund (something you've never even thought about & do not even realize that you believe until you discover, to your surprise, that it is false). What is it?

Is it false for all races?

Is it false for both genders?

Is it false for all ages?

Is it always false?

Does this "scrund" involve skin? Skin color? Some characteristic of the skin?

Bob Marley died of melanoma, which surprised a lot of us who thought that skin cancer happened only to "white" people who left the northern climes for the south.

Is that relevant?

That they don't need sunscreen? That they can't get sunburns?

That they don't need sunscreen? That they can't get sunburns?see previous answer

********* SPOILER ***************
I loathe sunscreen & had always taken it for granted that dark-skinned people didn't need it. So I was surprised to see a black friend(with medium-brown skin, approximately the attractive color of milk chocolate) slather the smelly, slimy stuff on herself just as I slather it on myself. Apparently, dark skin gives some protection, but not enough. Sorry it was so easy, but maybe my new puzzle won't be. Please check it out!

Nimue, I really appreciate this. As a very fair-skinned half-English half-Irish American, with more sense than anyone would give me credit for, I am not good at the slather. My bf is religious about it. And now that you've told your story, I will become so, too.

Especially as I have to walk about 6 miles this afternoon!

Hugs and gratitude,
Fiona

I'm quite fair-skinned, too. Isn't sunscreen icky? If anyone knows of an unsmelly & unslimy kind, please enlighten us all!

We should probably move this to another board, but: yes, the main reason I don't usually slather the sunscreen is that I have long hair, and I don't like my hair to get icky. Stupid, I know!

But from now on, I'll slather and deal with the icky.

Nimue, you are wonderful, and if I ever am lucky enough to learn of a perfect sunscreen, I'll buy them all up, and then send you half. Deal?

You bet, Fiona! By the way, I looked up your registration page & saw that you are a librarian & writer. I love libraries & librarians! In fact, one of my short stories is about a librarian. Maybe it will amuse you. Here's a link.

I used the story as a basis for a puzzle, but I think that was before you were on the forum.
