Sue tried to follow a good health regimen - eating organic food, exercising, etc. But she was diagnosed with cancer, not in spite of what she did, but BECAUSE of it. |

Is it correct to say that her attempt at healthy living caused her to get cancer? Was the diagnosis correct? Relevant what type of cancer she was diagnosed with? If so [LTPF list of cancers]? Did she get it from: eating something? Not eating something? Drinking something? Exercising? Being out in the sun? Inhaling something? From radiation? From a chemical? Would anyone following her regimen have an increased risk of cancer? |

Solitiare, you will have us all going crazy here. "Good on ya, mate!" as my Irish friends would say. Galfisk has an amazing list. (Love you, Galfisk!) Is Sue an astronaut? Wait, you said "tried" and other past tense verbs. Should I assume that Sue is going to die? Should I hope that I can think of a way that Sue will NOT die? If I want to solve this problem, should I ask about: biology? radiology? space travel? diets in magazines? diets of foods, salads, that she made in her own back yard? Are you telling us that she got sick bcz of something that, say, Snopes.com would tell us would not have made her sick? Are you telling us that she got sick bcz of something that is rarely known? And that you know about? I know I'm nuts, but I love science fiction, so I keep hoping that I'll find an SF way to save her. Is that possible? |

Is it correct to say that her attempt at healthy living caused her to get cancer?no Was the diagnosis correct?NO Relevant what type of cancer she was diagnosed with? no If so [LTPF list of cancers]? Did she get it from: eating something? Not eating something? Drinking something? Exercising?Yope Being out in the sun? Inhaling something? Possibly thisFrom radiation? From a chemical? Would anyone following her regimen have an increased risk of cancer? No. She did not have cancer, but what she did have might have been caused by one of these. Solitiare, you will have us all going crazy here. "Good on ya, mate!" as my Irish friends would say. Galfisk has an amazing list. (Love you, Galfisk!) Is Sue an astronaut? No Wait, you said "tried" and other past tense verbs. Should I assume that Sue is going to die? No, no, no. She is alive. I'm not as morbid as you think! Should I hope that I can think of a way that Sue will NOT die? If I want to solve this problem, should I ask about: biology? radiology? space travel? diets in magazines? diets yopish of foods, salads, that she made in her own back yard? Yes. VERY relevant. Are you telling us that she got sick bcz of something that, say, Snopes.com would tell us would not have made her sick? IDK what Snopes would say. She did get sick, but not from cancer Are you telling us that she .sick bcz of something that is rarely known? Yes. And that you know about? I know about it now because I read about it. I know I'm nuts, but I love science fiction, so I keep hoping that I'll find an SF way to save her. Is that possible? Not fiction, and it's not necessary to save her. Solitiare, I'm starting to cry. Sue is a test animal, right? No, HAF Solitiare, please tell me that I'm wrong. Quilte wrong, thankfully. See above. was the cancer caused by something that she did to lead a healthy lifestyle? or was she diagnosed because of her healthy lifestyle? She was misdiagnosed because of her healthy lifestyle. Wow, that was quick. ******************SPOILER***************** Sue is Suzanne Somers, one-time star of "Three's Company" and a breast cancer survivor. To prevent a recurrance, she was living a healthy lifestyle, but one day she woke up with a raging fever & covered with welts. She was rushed to the hospital, where a CAT scan showed multiple tumors throughout her body. Fortunately, it was a misdiagnosis. She simply had a very rare fever due to a reaction of something she had been sensitive to, while working in her organic garden. The upshot is that she now distrusts all meddical doctots, and has thrown out all her medicines & gone in for even more self- treatment. Oh well. BTW, Fiona, how did you make out during the storms?. Nothing here, not even a mist! |

what made me think of it was that my mate John was training so hard to get fit and do triathlons that he overtrained and ended up with blood in his urine - when they investigated they found that this was just down to his training, but they also found he had testicular cancer - so training may have saved his life! |
