Reminds me of the joke about the Norwegian who was jumping up and down on the lid covering a manhole in the street, while shouting "forty-six, forty-six, forty-six...". A Swede came walking along, and regarded our hero quizzically, finally asking "Why are you doing that?" "Why? Because it's great fun, of course?" "Fun? How can it be fun just jumping up and down and shouting forty-six, forty-six, forty-six?" "Oh, but it is! Try it yourself - you will understand then!" The Norwegian steps off the lid, making space for the Swede, who enters, and starts jumping and shouting "forty-six". The Norwegian has a tool with which to remove the lid, which he quickly does, and the Swede falls into the manhole. The Norwegian replaces the lid, steps onto it again, has a cheeseburger for lunch, and resumes his jumping, now shouting "forty-seven, forty-seven, forty-seven..." More to the point... 81 - is it a number of objects? A number of times that something has happened? A number of times that someone (you?) has done something? |

Is this a record of something? Did the number progressively get higher? Will it ever reach 82? Was it ever at 1 at any stage? Will the number be different tomorrow? Is it 81 days? Or some other time-period? Will something (significant) happen when the number reaches a certain point? |

366 is the number of days in a leap year -- relevant? noez, balin kitteh, just coincidence. The Norwegian replaces the lid, steps onto it again, has a cheeseburger for lunch, and resumes his jumping, now shouting "forty-seven, forty-seven, forty-seven..." *nearly dies laughing* =D And he haz cheezburgur! But not relevant, sadly. thanx for teh laughing, abc! More to the point... 81 - is it a number of objects? DOYD of 'objects' A number of times that something has happened? DOYD of 'something' A number of times that someone (you?) has done something? YES, subject to the above. Is this a record of something? yes Did the number progressively get higher? yes Will it ever reach 82? Was it ever at 1 at any stage? yes and yes Will the number be different tomorrow? possibly Is it 81 days? Or some other time-period? it's not 81 *days*, but as for time period...that's relevant to the puzzle (but not to 81) Will something (significant) happen when the number reaches a certain point? something significant has happened, which is why I posted this, but the 81 isn't the significant bit. good q's Quovynyte! |

So you've done something 81 times, correct? Let me investigate the 366... Have you done something else 366 times? Has someone else done the same thing 366 times? Has someone else done something else 366 times? Does it refer to a number of objects? A time period? (If so - seconds? minutes? hours? days? weeks? months? years?) |

The number of times someone else has done something? Is the rate of which the count (81) increases consistent? Is a game or sport relevant? Did the count begin more than 100 years ago? more than 10? more than 1? less than one year ago? Is there a definite number on which it will end? Or a definite time? Do you have any control over the count? Does the significant event happen on a certain number? Is there more than one significant event? |

If I'm right, you counted by typing your name into the search function and searched in the subject line. I just checked and got 81. But your "Veggie Tales" scrund puzzle did not have your name on it. |

it haz! I can haz forum birthdai! ***SPOILER*** Yesterday, I noticed that the day before had been my one-year anniversary at the forum. I counted all my puzzles, but failed to include "Veggie Tales" as despite my pleas, mods never got around to adding my name to it. (It's in Solved Puzzles, October 2010, IIRC. Could someone *please* fix it? Or is it too late now it's in Solved Puzzles?) In any case, I had an FA in my puzzle statement the whole time; so this is my 82nd puzzle, solved on my 367th day at the forum. Thanx to balin kitteh and all mai friends for the solve!! *cheezburgur partee* =D |

Happy Birthday! i can haz hamburgiez insted? thanx yuo! o yez, definitlee can haz! *givz* OK, so what does "kitteh" mean? that's "lolspeak" for "cat" or "kitten", and is also used as a synonym of "lolspeak", otherwise known as "the messed-up but fun version of the English language as used on the Cheezburger Network". Just google search "I can haz cheezburger", you'll find it *grin* (The Norwegian sentence says "I have now inserted your username in your puzzle from September 2010") Many thanks! =) Much appreciated, now I won't make any more FA's on my own puzzle count... |
