So, the computer he carried had something that he needed. Was it ...data? ...a program? ...particular settings? If it was a program, was it ...an anti-virus/malware/spyware etc. program? ...a program handling access rights? ...a office program such as Word or Excel? ...a specific program needed for his job? ...a media player? ...an e-mail client? ...the OS itself? Is the OS relevant? |

So, the computer he carried had something that he needed. Was it ...data? ...a program? ...particular settings? If it was a program, was it ...an anti-virus/malware/spyware etc. program? ...a program handling access rights? This is closest. ...a office program such as Word or Excel? ...a specific program needed for his job? ...a media player? ...an e-mail client? ...the OS itself? Is the OS relevant? Web browser relevant? ***SPOILER*** The technical details don't make for a fun puzzle, but in essence, it was easier for him to bring his own computer to the room where the course was held, than to get the neccessary access privileges on the computer already there. In the process of lugging his desktop computer there, he cut his finger on a sharp edge. Thanks for playing : ) |
