Kevin was stopped as he was walking onto the field. The security guard said Kevin could not proceed onto the field because he was naked. Kevin told the security guard that he wasn’t naked, he was in the marching band. NOTE: The solution to this puzzle has nothing to do with musical instruments of any kind. |

Was the security guard saying that Kevin was naked, not at the present time (when the security guard said this), but at some time in the past? Was the field a sports field, such as American football, or any other sport that features marching bands Hominid, why can't we just call him/her the Security gaurd? Why confuse things? |

Did Kevin play an instrument? Or was he in an auxiliary unit (flags, drill team, baton, etc?)? I'm picturing the spandex body suits that auxiliary units sometimes wear, happening to match his skin tone - something like this? How much of Kevin was covered by clothes: Most of his body (what you would expect to be covered by pants and a long sleeved shirt)? A moderate amount of his body (approximately shorts and a t-shirt)? A small amount of his body (e.g. what would be covered by a woman's one piece bathing suit)? Not very much at all (e.g. a loin cloth or a men's speedo)? |

So is it established that Kevin was wearing a transparent suit that gave the impression of being naked, while technically he was dressed up, correct? And what is left to be answered is why the guard decided to stop him on this occasion, although his "uniform" is the same from previous matches? If the above is correct, are there any religious implications relevant? Young children attending the match? |

I guess I hadn't asked it because I had assumed it was fiction. But following up, just in case this distinction is relevant: You say it was FSEI. Could it have just as easily been FOYI? Or is it in some way relevant that it was FSEI? (An example of what I mean: if the story is something a buddy of yours made up, then it could have just as easily been FOYI, but if it's, say, the plot of a movie, then it's relevant that it's FSEI.) Is a reference to the uniforms part of the joke? If so, are they part of the back story to the joke? Are they part of the punch line? They're the result of a joke? |

So their school colors are ___ and clear? Do we need to figure out what ___ is? Or is it enough to know that one of the colors was clear? So the band director (or whoever) placed an order for band uniforms that were ____ and clear? |

***** SPOILER ***** This puzzle is based on a joke that is told with the punchline coming first. The joke goes "My school colors were clear." And is followed up by the statement "I'm not naked, I'm in band." Thanks for all the great questions. This one was tougher than I expected. Thanks to everyone for hanging in there. I'll have a new puzzle out shortly. |
