**** Possible Blooper Alert ****

Is there something unusual/local to Maine that would keep somebody from finding their way home? well, the famous "Mainah" expression is "You can't get theah from heah." but no, there is nothing that would keep you from finding your way home or to an airport. the Portland International Jetport is small, but easily accessible.

I think a better answer may have been yope. There is something that is unusual and local to Maine. It wouldn't keep you from finding your way home, but could certainly confuse someone like our poor, lost Norman. Sorry for any confusion!

Lauren - yes, you've got it! Isn't Maine a great state? I'm living in Chicago now and miss it terribly.

PS. How do I update my information? The e-mail address associated with my name is an old one that I never use anymore.

I love Maine :) Even though the point of going to college is to explore the world and experience new things, I keep finding myself applying to Maine colleges... I don't want to leave!

On the left of the screen (for me, anyhow), there's a bar with three folders called Discussion, Documentation, and Utilities... under Utilities, there's a subfolder called Edit Profile :) Hope that helps!

One that points to towns like Warsaw, Versailles, Cincinnati and Lichtenstein? Or is that only in Ohio?

A sign pointing to Portland (capital of Oregon), Oxford (England), Naples (somewhere), Lisbon (France), Athens (Greece), Leeds (England), Norway, China, South China, Belgrade (Russia), Frankfort (Germany), etc....

One of those? Several of those? Sheesh! Your state has no creativity of its own.... Waterville... *rofl*

**********SPOILER***************

Norman landed in Maine. Maine has many towns that are the names of other countries or famous cities. There is a signpost that points the way to many of them (Norway, Paris, Denmark, Naples, Sweden, Poland, Mexico, Peru, China) (to see the sign, visit http://travel.mainetoday.com/onlyinmaine/thesign.shtml). When Norman saw the sign, he was very confused and thought that his geography lessons had been wrong. Luckily, the puzzlers on the LTPF were able to set him straight!

Good work to all!!!

PS. Portland, Maine came before Portland, Oregon, thank you very much! (By 91 years, at that!)

Whatever. You'd never know it with all the rest of the copying that's going on in that state. Btw... I can't find half of these cities you list on the mapquest map. Definately not all within 100 miles of each other. Are they really there? Or did somebody put up half the names on that sign just to be funny?
