When my (late) father was widowed he told me how he had learned to do a regular household task. It was astounding in its simplicity and although not everybody will be able to do it, many of you may well benefit from his method |

OK, so how to get a duvet cover on with only one person (on the duvet that is...not the person). And even if you never have to put a duvet cover on a duvet, you may still be able to use the method? I think the three methods are: Squashing it into the corners and shaking (my favourite) Turning the cover inside out Getting inside the cover with the duvet Did he use one of these methods, if so which one? |

Don't be afraid to throw ideas into the pot - if Dad's method doesn't work for you, other people's methods might. It's certainly a problem for a lot of people judging by the newspaper discussions and radio phone ins that cover this problem |

Do we need to watch out for floor numbering conventions? Here in the U. S. the ground floor = the first floor, but in some parts of Europe the first floor is the first one up from the ground floor. At least, it used to be. |

By Jennifer (Tigger32382) on Monday, November 07, 2005 - 10:30 pm: does he hang it over the railing of the staircase? YES ******** SPOILER ********* I couldn't believe how obvious a solution this was to putting duvet covers back on - even single covers, never mind doubles. Not only does the railing support the weight, the duvet can then drop below the level of the floor that you are on, which makes it SO much easier. |
