I'm sorry, I won't help you tonight.

Your job is to figure out what is going on in the above scenario and why the refusal was given.

you refused to help because the assistance was:
undeserved?
illegal?
inconvenient?
too little, too late?
unnecessary (i.e. he/she needs to learn sometime...)?

were you refused help by someone? Yes would they have helped a different night? Given their reason for not helping, No. is there something special about tonight. No are you the "you" in the statement? Yes

Yes, yes, I now see I am supposed to put my name at the beginning of the puzzle, missed that, my deepest apologies. The user guide also requests previewing messages for typo errors which obviously doesn't always happen. Make sure to call all those out too.

was it something about you? No something about the task? Yope. Partly the task itself, but not the main reason for the refusal, explore. did you want help with physical labor? Yes with a mental task? No

Does "I" refer to a he or a she?
Is his gender relevant?
Is his related to you?
Is his relationship relevant?
Is he single/widowed/married?
Is his age relevant?

Can he perform that task that you are asking him?

Does "I" refer to a he or a she? Irrel
Is his gender relevant? No
Is his related to you? Could be, but Irrel
Is his relationship relevant? Noish, only in that it's someone who I probably know, but not necessarily.
Is he single/widowed/married? Irrel
Is his age relevant? Let's say between 16 and 60. :)

Can he perform that task that you are asking him? Yes

Did he refuse to help because he didn't agree that the task should be performed at all? Or that it should be performed at that time? In that place?

Because he didn't approve of your proposed method?

Because he had an allergy or aversion to some tools or materials involved?

Is the fact that it was night relevant?

Is the fact that it was night relevant? Noish. It could be during the day, but usually when I have participated, it's done at night. There's a reason for this, but trying to go down this road to solve it would be the "scenic route".

Would he have said yes under different conditions?
If it had been someone else who asked for help?
Because he didn't believe you needed help?
Because he wanted to see if you could do it alone?
Because it was a test?

Wrong time of day? I gather not?
wrong time in relation to another relevant event?
Too late because something else had already happened?
Too early? because the requirements weren't ready yet?

wrong time in relation to another event but not earlier or later...the two had to happen simultaneously?

Were you unaware that you were attempting this task too early? Did you know and want to do it anyway? Did the person you asked for help have more information than you? A better understanding of the information?

Were you unaware that you were attempting this task too early? FA Did you know and want to do it anyway? See above Did the person you asked for help have more information than you? No A better understanding of the information? No
In regards to the FA, the word wrong in the previous Q/A is probably too strong a word, or somewhat misleading.

Would it be simply inconvenient if the task were performed early? Inconvenient to the person you are asking?
About the event that would happen later- would the person you are asking make this event happen? Would it occur where he lives? Where you live? Is it a national event? Does it affect many people? Does it have to do with seasons?
Paul S (Psdubl07)

Would it be simply inconvenient if the task were performed early? The task is being performed at the correct time, but there's a time element involved with a related but separate event that is unacceptable to the other person.
Inconvenient to the person you are asking? Somewhat, yes.
About the event that would happen later- would the person you are asking make this event happen? They wouldn't make it happen, but could be involved.
Would it occur where he lives? Do you mean general area, or actual place of residence?Where you live? See last question
Is it a national event? Yope. Not a national event, but many others doing the same thing at relatively the same time.
Does it affect many people? Yesish. Depends on what of course is many
Does it have to do with seasons? Yes

A time change? A change of season? One of the physical elements of seasons (i.e. snow, heat, leaves falling, etc.)

A time change? No A change of season? Yope One of the physical elements of seasons (i.e. snow, heat, leaves falling, etc.) None of these, but there is a seasonal dependancy here. Also, to clear up any FA, the seasonal factor is not what the unacceptable time element is to the other person. It is separate, but very much relevant to the puzzle.

This has to do with winemaking, I work at a botique winery. The request for help was during crush (harvest). It was refused because the monetary pay isn't much, the real payoff is when the wine is bottled and ready for drinking. In this case, with a red, about 2 years. Too long for the refuser to wait in this case.

Oh, and if you say the title fast, it sounds like the name of the winery.
