Was this in the present century? previous century? 1800s? 1700s? before this? Did the man start from ground level and go upward? Directly vertically? or more in the manner of an aircraft taking off? Was it visible to the army that he would be able to fly? Would it be visible to an observer from modern times (that the item is most probably meant to fly)? Well, Plebian got it mostly right, so I will post a... ******SPOILER This story is from Arabian Nights.Three magicians built a magical horse out of ebony. The prince wanted to try it, so the magician showed himm the "up" button but not the down one. He finally found it, and landed in a distant kingdom. He wanted to marry the princess, so he offered to fight an entire army and stay alive. The king said he could have any horse he wanted, but the only horse he wanted was the magical horse, then he escaped! great job, everyone! |
