Does he always turn blue when he is frightened? Would another person in his situation turn blue as well?
Attacker--adult? male/female?
Do they know each other? Reason for the attack relevant?

Would another person in his situation turn blue as well? Ummm, from previous question he's not a human, but a similar being would turn blue yes

I'm also going to change my answer to one of the questions after thinking about it. The reason for attack isn't nessesary to figure out who the attacker and the blue runner is, but it may be helpful.

The ghost Pac Man was chasing turned blue and ran away after Pac Man ate the power pellet. Of course later on Pac Man did some running of his own.
