The fire: in an apartment? a house? an office? forest? other? Was Lisa killed directly by the fire? (ie she was burnt to death?) Relationship between Lisa and Mike relevant? If Lisa had not died, would Mike have been given life? Had Lisa pledged to donate her organs upon her death? And Mike received a transplant? |

Death is literally death, right? Lisa was alive before the fire and dead afterwards, true? Was life more figurative, as in a new lease of life? Was Mike's life in some way constrained before Lisa died? Directly by Lisa? |

Before the fire: Was Mike dead? unconscious? asleep? in trance? frozen? in a coma? Was Mike a human laboratory animal? a medicament tester? a scientist? someone who worked in the lab? Was Lisa a human laboratory animal? a medicament tester? a scientist? someone who worked in the lab? True story? Could this really happen? |

Considering a previous puzzle (not one of Judge's I'd hasten to add) involved all the air molecules in a room simultaneously jumping to one side of the room, and the question "could this really happen?" was answered with an unqualified "yes"... Is the thing that happened, something a normal person would consider: - a reasonable and likely sequence of events within the confines of the story? Or something which would seem unusual? Or something which would seem highly unlikely? Or something which would seem impossible, happen though it did? |

It depends on what the normal person knows about certain things. |

But hopefully more likely to happen than several billion oxygen atoms, by exceptional coincidence, all jumping to - oh, hang on... So Mike was Frozen, and Lisa was a scientist? Was Mike frozen in ice? Or frozen with cold? Did the fire release Mike from the ice (or cold)? Was Mike a subject of Lisa? Or simply in the same lab? |

Did Mike fall into a crevasse during his lifetime? Yes ****SPOILER**** Lisa was a scientist who found a 15,000 years old Neanderthal, who Fell Into A Crevasse During His Lifetime and was consequently frozen. She took him to her lab, but before she could begin any research, a great fire broke out in the lab. Lisa died in the flames while Mike thawed and ran away. |

There were no Neanderthals left 15 000 years ago... but I suppose that if we accept the rest of the story as a true one we have no reason to question the timeline |
