When Barbara had been in London 5 years ago for a couple of weeks, on business, she had hooked up with two guys, Jim and Sam. She'd really really liked Jim, he was the perfect guy for her, they sat up all night talking, they went for moonlit strolls in the park, they'd really connected, she'd been sorry when she'd had to leave him at the end of the two weeks. Sam she'd gotten on okay with, she'd had a laugh with him, but she'd pretty much stopped seeing him once she met Jim. She much preferred Jim to Sam in every way. So why, when she came back to London last week, did Barbara contact Sam, and not Jim? I think I ran this here a (very) long time ago. If anyone thinks they remember it, email me and we'll see if you're right. | ||

When Barbara had been in London 5 years ago for a couple of weeks, on business, she had hooked up with two guys, Jim and Sam. She'd really really liked Jim, he was the perfect guy for her, they sat up all night talking, they went for moonlit strolls in the park, they'd really connected, she'd been sorry when she'd had to leave him at the end of the two weeks. Sam she'd gotten on okay with, she'd had a laugh with him, but she'd pretty much stopped seeing him once she met Jim. She much preferred Jim to Sam in every way. So why, when she came back to London last week, did Barbara contact Sam, and not Jim? We now know that the reason she didn't contact Jim is because she didn't have his contact details. This is partly because she threw them away when leaving London the first time, but there's more to it than that. She also threw Sam's number away when she left London the first time, but was able to find his details on her return. I've said that both Sam and Jim have changed their address and phone number while she was away from London, but actually it's not terribly relevant | ||

Are the last names of Jim and Sam relavant? Say it is 'Jim Smith' and 'Sam Gambolputty von Hautkopft of Ulm'? Was it just simpler to find Sams telefone number? Did she hope to get Jims telefone number from Sam? Did she think she would never find out Jims number? | ||

Did she think she would never find out Jims number? ******** SPOILER ********** On Barbara's return to London, she would have like to be able to contact Jim rather than Sam, but looking up Jim Smith in the London phonebook didn't seem very promising... Sam Gambolputty von Hautkopft of Ulm, however, was a much easier prospect. | ||
