A common minor mishap showed me a good way out of a (not obviously related) common sticky situation. How come??

This sticky situation - is it likely to be an everyday occurrence? Could it happen to anyone? Men? Women? People of all ages?
Would it happen at home? At work? While travelling? In human interaction, eg like a conversational faux pas?
'Sticky' in the literal sense, eg gum in one's hair?

Well, maybe from the other end--I think of a sticky situation as something I'd rather not be doing but I don't have a good way out of it, is it like that? Does the mishap give you an excuse to get you out of the sticky situation? Or a way to avoid it altogether? Would other methods of stickiness-avoidance/getoutofness result in someone's feelings being hurt?

Does the mishap typically occur during a particular action on the part of the mishapee? Might the effects of the mishap linger for a period of time? If so, minutes? Hours? Days? Longer? Would someone be able to determine that you'd had such a mishap by seeing you? Hearing you? Smelling you? Touching you? Only because they were told or they witnessed it?

Does the sticky situation involve an invitation? A request for action on your part?

Do you really have allergies? or pretend to be allergic to something? Someone's perfume? something they are wearing? carrying? something in the vicinity?
Do you use an allergy to pretend you have a cold so that someone else will avoid you?
Do you use a sneeze to cover the fact that you have forgotten something? to give you an opportunity to change the subject or not answer a question? to leave someone who is boring you? to hang up on the telephone?

Is the thing that you are pretending to be allergic to relevant? Or just allergies in general?

Did the sticky situation involve:
People you didn't like?
People you didn't want to see?
Somewhere you didn't want to be/go to?
Something you didn't want to do?
Two different people wanting you to do different things?

the thing you are pretending to be allergic to...not food, animal, or plants, correct?

Seasonal allergies?
Some kind of fabric/material?
Mold?
Hay?

Is it something that is a common allergy?

HINT: By far the most important thing that's been discovered about this puzzle is that what I pretend
to be allergic to is not a common source of allergies. Also, it would be more accurate to say that I say I am allergic than that I pretend to be allergic

Ok, the relevant allergy:

Something organic? Inorganic?
If organic:
Living? Dead? Plant? Animal? Fungus? Other?
If inorganic:
Something one would encounter on a daily basis?
If so: at home? in an office? outside? inside? in a public place?
Would you have to touch it to have a reaction? Smell it? Breathe it in? Taste it? Swallow it?
Is it liquid? Solid? Gaseous?

Is it so uncommon an allergy as to be completely unheard of? Would someone doubt you if you told them? Or is it just not as common as something like pollen or animal dander?

Sorry, just exploring an avenue of thought... When I was young, I had very bad (sinus)allergies. Sometimes it seemed like i was allergic to anything, i started making the quip "i'm allergic to my allergies." This brings up the notion of: being allergic to something(an allergy), then being allergic to being allergic to that something, then being allergic to being allergic to being allergic....., thus being a somewhat creative explanation (or so it seemed at the time) for why i was always sneezing my head off...

so, is the scenario that you say you are allergic to something (intangible) to get you out of a situation where you might have to be with people you don't like?

are you trying to avoid a social situation? a work situation?
is this something you have done more than once?
do you say you are allergic to crowds? enclosed spaces? smoky atmospheres?

Do you say you are allergic to something intangible? And this is to avoid the sticky situation? Is the sticky situation to be taken literally (for example glue, tape)? Or figuratively speaking (for example some situation that is awkward for you)? Is what you say you are allergic to an action? Doing something? Some thought process? Words? Seeing something?

Solon magrizos could very well be the next world record holder of speed cubing. What is speed cubing you ask? It’s the sport (many consider it a sport) or solving a Rubik’s cube as quickly as possible. It’s not hard to impress someone by solving this age old puzzle in a few minutes. But solving it in a few seconds? It’s rather jaw dropping. Jacob is amazing to watch. You can barely see his hands and it’s like he’s a robot once he starts. He’s quite the mathematical genius and he says it’s not too hard to learn, all you need to do is memorize a few algorithms However he does it, he’s quite fantastic and quite fun to watch.

Arrogance and/or stupidity? no. But you're ORT (on the right track. It's an offensive character trait, but one that's more problematic to ignore than arrogance or stupidity

Regarding the offensive character trait:
- is it you directing it towards someone else
- is it you directing it towards yourself
- is it someone else directing it towards you
- is it normally between two humans

Is it problematic to ignore because:
- it creates a strong emotion in you
- it makes you/does not make you act in a certain things
- it changes the way people percieve you
- it creates a physical reaction in you that is noticable for others

Is it usually happening:
- in private
- in public

Does it put you in a moral dilemma?
Is the situation initiated by you or the other person? If it is you, is it the answer you don't like? If it is the other person, does he want your attention? Are you chosen randomly?
Do you need to be close to the other person, or can you develop an alergy from a distance?

it seems that you want to be left out of this, but... are you different or special in the same or similar way as the other person?

Does the abuse go like: "(I think) Germans are basically arrogant. They think they are the superior race, which is not true."?

or

"Third world countries remain largely underdeveloped because of relatively low average IQ."?

Could it also have been expressed with a sign language or body language?

******SPOILER *****
What do you do when you hear someone say something racist? When I was in grade school, we were told me should say, "That kind of talk is un-American," but if you can imagine making that prissy little speech (or the equivalent for your own nationality, if applicable), you have more imagination than I do. But you probably ought to say something. I got lucky when I happened to sneeze right after someonew made a racist remark in my presence, because it inspired (?) me to say, "Oh, excuse me, I'm allergic to racism." That's less prissy than most of the things one ought to say. So now I always use that approach, although with a cough--much easier to fake than a sneeze. Thanks for sticking with it, everyone, & guess what awaits you at the bottom of the page.
