Adam said something to Joan which incorrectly gave her the impression that he had old fashioned values. However, no misunderstanding of what Adam said was involved. |

**********RECAP************ Adam and Joan meet by chance about ten years after leaving school (they were in the same class). They have a discussion involving Joan's current situation, during which Adam makes a comment which leads Joan to believe he holds old fashioned opinions. In fact, he says what he says for a completely logical reason and doesn't realise at the time how it might sound |

Putting "Quickie" or "This should go quickly" in the puzzle statement always causes a puzzle to go on and on, you know that. And putting it in the puzzle title, well, that's just asking for a never-ending puzzle. Does she have children? If so, are their ages relevant? |

~damia~ (~damia~) Posted on Friday, December 15, 2006 - 3:19 pm: so he saw she was pregnant and said something like so when are you getting married? or when did you get married? <b>Yes - the exact situation was that Adam looked surprised that Joan was pregnant and said "Congratulations!". Joan asked (assuming the ex-school grapevine was still running) "So you didn't know I was pregnant?". Adam: "I didn't even know you were married!" Cookie (Cookie) Posted on Friday, December 15, 2006 - 3:21 pm: Or: "Is your husband with you"? Did someone tell him she is married right before? ********** SPOILER *********** Adam bumped into a heavily pregnant Joan in a shopping centre about ten years after they had both left school. Assuming the school grapevine would still be running, Joan was surprised to learn he didn't already know she was pregnant. "So you didn't know I was pregnant" asked Joan, rubbing her bump with her left hand, at which point Adam spotted her wedding ring. "No - I didn't even know you'd got married" Thanks for playing everyone |
