Did he not want anyone near his home to see the car?
Did he not want anyone to know where he lives?

To get some exercise?
He didn't have a up to date resident's permit?
To be able to park in a nicer neighbourhood with less risk of his car being damaged or stolen?
To pretend he lived in a nicer neighbourhood?
There just isn't room on his road to park anyway?
To hide his car from his wife/flatmate/jealous sibling?
Amnesia?
He fancied the cute bus driver?
He avoided having to wait ages in the morning to leave his own driveway as he lived on a busy road?
To avoid an awkward one-way system?

Does he live at the bottom/top of a hill? Does this hill ice over in the winter? Does he not want to drive up/down said hill for fear of the car sliding and crashing? Instead he walks up/down the hill to/from his home to avoid such a mess?

Did he have a choice in the matter?
Were there road works in the area?
Did he do this every day? Just once?
Is where he parked relevant? The distance from his home? Something in its locality?
Is the time of day relevant? Early morning? middayish? early evening? late at night?
Did he actually leave his car there and walk home? travel home? Every night?
Did he park his car there because that's where he had driven and wanted to be - e.g. work? his mother's? his girlfriend's?

Do we have to find out more about: his occupation? his character? his car? the district where he lived? the district where he parked the car? the circumstances (e.g. weather?)?
Is it relevant that it was dark?
Did he do or experience anything relevant walking home?
Are there any other persons or animals envolved?

Did he want his girlfriend/wife to think he was working in a particular place? Was he actually out of work?
Did he go after work? Instead of work?
Was he wanting to make her jealous?
Did he go straight home after parking there?
Did he walk home? Catch a bus or train?
Was the woman going to see the car there?
Was he going out to collect it later and that would get him out of another situation - e.g. avoiding a night out/in that evening?
Did he say that the car was parked where he was?
Did he keep that fact secret?
Did he go out of his way to park where he did, or was it part way home anyway?

Did any accident happen? or scratches at a car?
Did anything relevant happen before? including the man? the woman? the man's car? another car? the parking space?
Seeing the car, did the woman feel anything? If yes: anger? fear? confusion?

Was there another car involved? The car of the woman? Did the man damage a car?
So the man and the woman met before? Was there a conflict between them? Did they meet near the womans house? Did they have a bone to pick with each other?
Did the woman realise that the man had walked home after parking the car?

Had the woman lived there long? Just moved in? Did she gazump him over the purchase?
When you said he did this "just once" - do you mean just once up to now? did he plan to do it again? did he have other ideas about revenge?

Were her difficulties severe, or more just an inconvenience?
Health related?
Was his car a specific car? (i.e. a mail-carrier, a schoolbus, etc.)

Or was it recognizable because of... Paint? Model, Make? Year? Something attached to it? Something missing?

Ok, different approach.
The other person related to this puzzle:

HAM or HAF?
Child?
Occupation relevant?

This is total shot in the dark, but:

Is the revenge he is exacting on this woman based on the fact that someone else will see his car there?

Is the fact that she sees his car there in the morning just an indication to her that the revenge has already begun?

hmmm. this is good. can't wait to know the answer so I can stump my roommates for a while. we have a 26 hour car ride later this week, and will be bringing about 9 of your books that I own with us, so thank you in advance, and happy new year! - Sam

Will there be many other people who will see it there? 1+, 10+, 100+

Does this cause her embarrassment?

Did he want to give the impression to others that the car was hers?

Would this be a car she would theoretically not want associated with herself?

Would this indicate to others that she was involved with something she was not?

Would this be revenge that she could not remedy?

I can't believe we haven't even asked this, but is her occupation relevant?

Is she a politician?

*** SPOILER ***

Damia,

does she worry about what her neighbours will think if they see a strange car parked outside her house all night? and that maybe her neighbours would tell her family she had a man stay over? or is it just what the neighbours think that matters? and that they may gossip about her?

WELL DONE

The woman is a gossip. The man heard that she had started an unpleasant rumour about him. He parked his car outside her house all night so that other gossips might suppose that she had a man stay with her.

good work

regards

Paul
