Andrea left the house on Saturday with only ten pounds in her wallet. During the course of the day, she is robbed. Needless to say, the thief didn't profit much from this, but Andrea cried for days afterwards. Why? |

Hi Jackie! Did she cry for anything the thief took away? for anything he or she destroyed? for anything in Andreas life that had changed due to the robbery? Apart from the ten pounds, is there anything relevant in the purse? or is the purse itself relevant? So her purse is robbed? anything else? Is the act of robbing relevant? Do we have to find out more about: Andrea? the thief? did they know each other? Is the place where this happened relevant? |

Is her person robbed, or does somebody rob her apartment? Or some other possesion which is somewhere else? Or maybe, she falls in love with somebody, so he steals her heart? |

Did you misunderstand me? When I asked if her person was robbed, I meant any of her possessions which were at the moment on her person, such as a purse she was carrying. Or indeed her purse was robbed but she was not carrying it? |

Oh goody! Did the thief steal stuff from the purse? Or did he take the entire purse? Did he steal anything else? Anything else of Andrea's? Over here it happens to everyone: it's quite a poor country, so when your wallet gets stolen, the amount of money you lose is rarely comparable to the amount of trouble causing by losing all your IDs and documents. Is it similar? |

Ok, so Andrea lost a bag and wallet containing ten pounds. Was the wallet in the bag? Is she crying for loss of wallet? Bag? Both? The money inside wallet? Some other stuff inside wallet? Something inside her bag? I hope we are not mixing robbing (where somebody threatens and take thing) with theft (where somebody secretly takes away thing). Did this robbery took place in her home? Some place outside her home? Some public place? A bank? |

No Some other stuff inside wallet? No Something inside her bag? Yope I hope we are not mixing robbing (where somebody threatens and take thing) with theft (where somebody secretly takes away thing). Well the dictionary just says: to rob= to steal from / deprive unfairly of something. Anyway, your latter description is the case here. Did this robbery took place in her home? Is this a true story? or at least something realistic? Did she put her bag in a locker? Did she confide it to someone? Did she forget it somewhere? Did this happen in a city? outside? in a public building? did she have to pay to enter? Did this happen while she was working? doing a leisure activity? Did Andrea miss anything due to the robbery? Are there more people involved? Did the thief see her? speak to her? Apart from the wallet, was there anything relevant in the bag? an object which was valuable to her but not to the thief? Did the bag contain some important piece of information? |

Assuming there is an stolen object that is valuable to her: (don't answer if it's not the case) Is its value directly linked to her, and inexistent anywhere else? (For example my mobile phone's contact list, which I always say I'd be very much doomed without, but I never have the time to copy it somewhere safe -- the point is that a thief would have no use for it) Is its value obscure to non-connaisseurs? Maybe, some scientifical work, or some archeological discovery... Losing it would affect Andréa on which levels? Financial? Emotional? Spiritual? Practical? |

Yes, but quite indirectly. Did the thief see her? Yes speak to her? No Apart from the wallet, was there anything relevant in the bag? Yes an object which was valuable to her but not to the thief? It wasn't valuable to the thief; it was yopeishly valuable to her. Did the bag contain some important piece of information? Something inside her bag? Yope Apart from the wallet, was there anything relevant in the bag? Yes From these answers does it mean we are looking for more than one item? No. The first question was asked as a continuation of "Was she crying for loss of purse/bag/something inside her bag?" The yope means that something that was stolen from inside her bag caused her to cry, but she wasn't crying because she lost that item, per se. |

Was she ice skating? The question is really if it could have happened both summer and winter? If she leave the bag, so the content would not be ruined? Would it have prevented her from performing whatever she was doing? Is she leaving the bag a signal of some sort, like the seat is taken? Is she seeing someone when she is away from the bag? Is she interacting with anyone? Is she hiding the bag from any other person? |

************************SPOILER******************** Andrea is a dancer participating in a prestigious dance competition. Clearly one of the best dancers there, she was confident of her ability to emerge the champion, winning a large sum of money as well as a dance contract with some famous star. The day before the finals, she decided to practise her routine in an empty theatre. Placing her bag on a chair in the auditorium, she mounted the stage and started practising, thinking that since her bag was right in front of her, within sight, it was safe. Unfortunately, the silly girl didn't realise that due to the bright stage lights, the auditorium would be completely dark to her. While she was losing herself in her wonderful performance, a sneaky thief, who saw her enter, tiptoed in and made away with her bag. Since this bag contained her shoes, Andrea had no choice but to walk home barefooted, resulting in her cutting her poor, talented feet. The next day, due to her injured feet, Andrea's dancing was not as good as it usually was, costing her her victory. Thank you all so much for your interest and wonderful questions!! |
