I think I get it...If he is going from Brasilia to Beijing, and Brasilia and Beijing are on exactly opposite sides of the earth, then any place on earth would be on a great circle, or direct flight path, between the two cities. Of course, that's an awfully long flight. | ||

The Pilot was flying from Brasilia to Bei-jing, which is around half-the-world, so any point on the Earth wouldn't be a detour for him. Nice job to all who participated, especially Peter and Eli |
