So 'they' are considered bad, and they are a group of adult human beings, gender not relevant. Right? Relevant what age he is? Regarding 'they'; are they considered bad because of something they have done? something they have not done? because of a bad reputation, for instance due to where they are from? Does 'he' know 'them'? If so, relationship between them relevant? |

Is this a true story?Yes Is 'he' another famous person who was in a highly-publicised court case? No, this is my true story, between me and a friend. So 'they' are considered bad, and they are a group of adult human beings, gender not relevant. Right? Right Relevant what age he is? Yes Regarding 'they'; are they considered bad because of something they have done? This something they have not done? because of a bad reputation, for instance due to where they are from? Does 'he' know 'them'?'They' are a general group who have a common interest. 'He' is just a friend of mine. I can't say any of us have met a person who shares that mentality as 'they' do... If so, relationship between them relevant?NA Hopefully this has nothing to do with paedophiles? It does.... |

So, to recap: for a few seconds, your friend didn't realise that paedophiles were bad. And we have to find out why? Is this right? Did he mishear you? Did he perhaps confuse paedophiles with paediatricians, pedologists, millipedes or anything similar? |

Or something like an addiction to TV or the internet? Did you mention the something in your answer? Is it relevant how old your friend is? If so: Under 5? 5-10? 10-12? A teenager? |

World of Warcraft? Morrowind? Asheron's thingummydoodah? [Here ends my knowledge of online fantasy gaming] So we are looking for a word connected with paedophilia that also sounds like something in a Massive Multi-Player Role-Playing thingy. Is this right? Would it help to know the names of characters in the game (eg Princess Gru-Ming?) Or the names of roles such as Elf, Warlord, etc? Or the names of fantasy worlds, such as The Haunted Wastes of Purvv? Does the puzzle hinge on ONE homophone-pair? Or more? Is it an exact homophone? |

How about Everquest? Lord of the Rings? In fact, is the precise Massive Multiplayer thingy actually needed? Or is this a class of things found in a number of different games? Is the paedo-related word a real English word, such as would be accepted in Scrabble? Is it a slang word? Is it a word you could use in a polite context? If you said the word in isolation, would one normally associate it with paedos? Is the RPG-related word a real English word, such as would be accepted in Scrabble? If not a class of warriors, is it a class of peoples? Or of things? Or of currencies, or such, within the game? Did the designers of the RPG actually coin the term? If so, were they aware that it had a paedo-related homophone? |

d2-d3Haven't you made this move before? There's already a pawn on d3. Is doing that"Something" The thing that was bad?Yes "Something" done to minorsThis/miners? I think that's enough information to warrant a spoiler. ********SPOILER******** My friend, asked me sometime back, the meaning of the word paedophile and I answered with the colloquial definition of adults who have sexual relations with minors. Now, this friend of mine (Rage29 on this site) is a great Runescsape addict and and at the time, was playing the game. Thus, he misunderstood the word 'minors' as 'miners'. So, 'For a few seconds, he didn't realise why they were considered bad.' Congratulations to all who participated! |
